Specifically ammo meters.
I am trying to make a custom ammo meter for a weapon that I am working on. I was only able to find one tutorial on the subject, and I still havn't been able to get mine working.
I think that it may be a problem with the differences between GIMP and Photoshop (although I have never run into any problems before). The tutorial uses photoshop and I am using GIMP.
Does anyone know of any other tutorial for ammo meters, or could someone briefly explain how to make one?
I have 35 little lines to show bullets, but the bitmap with the gradient is the one that shows up and the one that should be static flashes when I get low on ammo.
Thanks

I use gimp and I know when I deal with alpha channels you don't use the layer method (duplicate layer, rename channel to alpha). Rather go to -- Layer Toolbar / Transparency / Add Alpha Channel. Now anything you want selected to be on the alpha layer, highlight in gimp and use Layer Toolbar / Transparency / Color to Alpha.
Remember to adjust the Threshhold Alpha if needed
