Go to your HCE folder, run haloupdate.exe, if halo is legitimately installed, then that will insure your game is 1.09, and at that point, if the installer still says it cannot find the registry, then it means you are using a illegitimate install (Since a legitimate copy of the game CANNOT run without registry), and to actually install the game correctly.

i reinstalled it and used the cdkey from my halo disc, but ill try to run the installer in the halo directory. its up to date, the update program said it itself, i used that to update when i reinstalled as well. it still didnt find it. i just tried again. it didnt work yet. should i install the halo pc game to fix this? i havent installed it yet but would that fix the registry problem? no, its looking for HCE registry. Checking for update requirements goes by registry as well. So if you can run HCE, it means one of two things, either you are using a illegitimate copy, or you have that registry... The installer clearly says you do not have the registry, so if your able to run HCE, then you have a illegitimate copy.

thats the one i used, anyways i looked for an alternate one and found one at filefront since its always got the legit stuff. i first installed halo pc just incase and then halo ce. it worked, everything is good. all the details look cool. now if only they aould make an option to disable weather, my laptop always lags from snow, but until i got inside everything ran smooth. thanks for the help. sure hope xfire can make compatibility with open sauce soon so i can make screenshots.
actually one more thing, i saw in the video on http://www.halomods.com/ips/index.php?/page/index.html/_/articles/frontpage/haloce-opensauce-v3-released-r11 that its possible to move your weapons around on the screen like that yelo battery back in version 1.07 oh halo ce. is that possible to do yet? if so then how?
