They tried too hard to make the Halo4 music cinematic. It lacks the tempo and beat that got my adrenaline going in the earlier games. The theme is pathetic. But hey, we'll see when it comes out, eh old chaps?

All the older Halo music had slow, lyrical pieces, as well as faster pieces with a faster beat. You act as if you have heard the entire soundtrack, when all that has been released is this little tiny clip of music. :\ Don't assume anything until you have listened to the soundtrack.

I think we can all agree on one thing: The game definitely will not be the same without Marty and his awesome BGM compositions.

i agree. However, based on the soundtrack sample in todays bulletin, the new guy is doing a pretty good job being definitive. like, someone could hear it and be like, oh, thats from halo 4, right?

Games almost never make radical changes in terms of visual artstyle once it's been shown off.
Borderlands by Gearbox is that exception. They went from realistic to cel shaded after showing off the game the first time.

They certainly made the right call, love that game.

As for the cinematic music that's being produced, I think it will go perfectly with the new approach 343i is taking.

Why are you all like that guy? Marty being gone is HORRIBLE! I loved his music!

Halo is now dead to me.

they should either change everything with new and great results, or change very little, not change some aspects of halo, imo. so if the games completely different from all other halos, this music might fit it, if it's supposed to feel like halo however, it doesn't

I'm not, I agree. If I was Microsoft I would've tried to hire Marty at 343, offer him more than bungie is giving him. You only need to hear the soundtrack for the trilogy to know he'd be worth the extra cash.

Hate to break it, but the truth is for some people, looks do matter...even in games!!
It is of negative influence on the game experience if I have to look at, imo, ugly characters and again imo, generic sci-fi style.

Are you... agreeing with me?

But you're the one that convinced me graphics don't matter!

You're dead to me.

Artwork and Graphics are two different entities altogether. Other than gameplay, artwork is very important to a game as it sets its personality(yes even Pong has its own artwork). When people say that a certain game is similar to another game, they are probably referring to either the gameplay or the artwork.

P.S.,

Quote: -FXAA implementation

As far as my knowledge goes, FXAA is a new texture filter Nvidia made recently to replace anti-aliasing. This feature can only be used with Nvidia's new graphics card the GTX 680 and can be forced upon games that don't support it. This is concerning since console technology is 7 years behind and I wonder how will they be able to implement it into the game. Plus, due to the way the filter works, some people have complained that it makes their games blurry.

As much as I miss Marty, the new soundtrack sounds pretty good.

My only wish list is Jen Taylor and a reunion with Kelly/Fred/Linda/Kurt/Halsey.

Some weps like the shotgun are probably place holders.

Yeah, that shotgun is the Reach shotgun, looks like there isn't an H4 version yet. I am really interested to see more of that Sniper Rifle, I wish they gave a side view of it :P

I love the "nanosuit" style armour. It's less boring than just some stretchy rubber... it looks like it has strength and technology...

What scaly part are you talking about? The only thing that looks remotely scaly is the suit under the armor.

i think the graphics are fine, especially the lighting.

Its the custom loadouts and AAs thing that shoots it in the foot IMO.

You might want to reserve your judgment on that until you actually get a chance to play it.

Well they are fresh of the line soldiers in a sense, since these are UNSC personal with modified mjolnir suits, and plus, its still a WIP so it might change later on, personally I like how there going for the look, looks like how its going super futurastic instead of modern unlike h2 and h3 from modern to future style.

It's supposed to clean. These are new freshly built armors. It's only logical.
And by "plain", I'm pretty sure you mean, NEW.

Frank O'Connor was there. Conan acted like he knew nothing about games whatsoever. The beginning of a new war by the end of the game. Something about the largest human hanger ever built. Pelicans look a bit different, unless there is another air vehicle similar to it.
edit: and that was there ^

Just told us to go to here for more: http://teamcoco.com/halo4
I haven't watched it yet. The site just decided not to work right after I got there. :/

Well, I hope 343 allows modding.
They should develop a terrain editor for Forge. As in, one of those painting terrain editors.

Good enough Editing Kit for me. :)

That'd be pretty cool, i was thinkin of something kind of like that. Imagine if you could add water, or different ground textures, like grass, dirt, gravel, etc. That'd be great lol

Armor Abilities.

And a terrain editor would be spectacular. In fact, it'd probably consume all of the time I'd be spending in 3ds Max. So here's corssing my fingers they both have and don't have it.

Specking of which, someone with a Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 should post screenshots of Halo with FXAA forced upon it.

Seriously though, the xbox's graphics card shouldn't even allow it to have FXAA or am I missing something? I guess they can just cheat the graphics just like all the other console games.
