Vehicle: H3_Brutechopper Author: Slap Happy/NerveBooger Thanks to Advancebo for the base model rip from H3, Bourrin for Alternating fire, Spartan094 for help with marker edit. Custom shaders, physics, camera track, firing effects and sounds by me, engine sounds by me and mangenko, thanks to others who contributed. Place the h3_brutechopper folder in your tags directory. Both the brutechopper.vehicle and a rusted out scenery object rusted_chopper.scenery are included. Note: If wish to use the chopper and to have your custom biped player grab the steering properly, edit your bipeds model_animations tag, under units select G-driver (Ghost driver), and add 4 IK points in the cyborg player anims under the G-Driver unit to force both feet and hands to the correct marker positions (see image edit-cyborg-anims.jpg) the left and right hand may already exist in your bipeds model_animations tag: Add these 4 IK Points: 0 Marker: right hand Attach to marker: right hand wheel grip 1 Marker: left hand Attach to marker: left hand wheel grip 2 Marker: left foot Attach to marker: left foot 3 Marker: right foot Attach to marker: right foot I have included the standard cyborg.model_animations tag with the proper IK points added for your convenience. In sapien:
Hierarchy view >> Objects >> Units >> Vehicles
Select the vehicle
Properties Palette: scroll down to multiplayer spawn flags
Check the boxes:
Slayer Allowed CTF Allowed King Allowed Oddball allowed
If you want the vehicle to spawn, regardless of server gametype setup, then also select the games where you want the vehicle to spawn by default:
Slayer default CTF default King default Oddball default
Ensure the vehicle is listed in your globals.global tag. Compile, voila they appear.
If you played bloodgulch default CTF, no vehicles appear - why? because they leave these unchecked to allow server host to customize settings in gametype setup based on the hosts preferences
For RACE, vehicles are NOT selected in the above manner, they are placed in sapien as netgame flags in the game window (you will see the flag, not the vehicle). Then combined with the globals and the hosts game type setup they will spawn in the order described below. In the globals, the race vehicles that spawn will be based on 3 positions or slots, and will appear based on the number of players that enter the server:
Race vehicles: Standard globals setup, multiplayer section in guerilla:
Slot 1: mp_warthog (Chain hog) <<< 1st race vehicle (1 vehicle for each of first 4 players unless not setup) Slot 2: ghost_mp (Ghost) <<< 2nd race vehicle (5th player enters = spawn unless not setup) Slot 3: scorpion_mp (Tank) Slot 4: banshee_mp (Banshee) Slot 5: c gun turret_mp (Turret) Slot 6: rwarthog (Rocket Hog) <<< 3rd race vehicle (5th player enters = spawn unless not setup)
Six vehicles is the maximum within HEK, more than that requires scripting, or effects. If you only have 3 vehicles listed in your globals, and you set the gametype to spawn a rocket hog, it will not spawn, or it may cause exceptions. You must have 6 vehicles in globals for the 6th slot to spawn a vehicle for the matching slot in halo lobby gametype setup.
So if you wanted the Chopper to appear as the race vehicle, and have it spawn as the 3rd vehicle type, put the chopper as the 6th vehicle slot - then when the 5th person enters the server, it will appear/spawn ( if selected in the game type setup and set to "allowed"). You must also place a netgame flag in sapien: Hierarchy view >> Game Data >> Net Game Flags, place a flag in the game window, then in the properties palette, select the team index (1 = blue, 0 = red) and select the type as "race vehicle", and setup equal number of vehicles on both teams, and near their player spawns. You must also setup the waypoints (navigation) and number them in the order you want, (starting with zero, 1,2,3 etc) and important: this number is entered into the team index field in sapien (navigation waypoints/race track flags are NOT team specific, although vehicles are team specific) this field serves multiple purposes for setting up all netgame flags, not just team numbers.
If you want to test race vehicles, I suggest you place it in the 1st slot (Chain hog slot) - then it will spawn when one player enters the server (such as you testing it out), if both the default and allowed are selected in sapien, and the gametype setup has at least one vehicle (per team) setup in the gametype setup of the halo lobby. Note: you should spawn players and race vehicles in close proximity to each other, but not so close that a vehicle spawns on top of players, and especially during race, select a common area for both teams and vehicles to spawn, don't set them up to spawn at separate bases as halo's engine for RACE/Netgame flags will often NOTspawn players and vehicles at the same base - UNLESS you set players and vehicles to spawn only at one base for both teams. (Example: infinity team race will only spawn players and vehicles at red base - this is to make race predictable, and so you don't have to walk across the entire map to get a vehicle - this is why most racers hate snowgrove - one team ends up walking).
I hope more people will stop being lazy by setting up only CTF and slayer gametypes. If you want your map played and hosted on servers, setup all gametypes, which includes race, and other game types - then test player and vehicle spawns and beta test the game play with a few friends. Make your own content. Altheros. Actually, His maps are unprotected. That means anyone can rip it. He just released this one properly. Tool - something used in a activity. I'm not a tool, No human is. Its an object. And again people blames the new guy for Altheros, Why stupid is that. I'm sarcastic in a serious way. Sincerely, Not a 13 year old. Colloquial language. Unlike other authors, I don't care if my content is ripped, and I don't care if I am credited for my tags. I know I made them, as do my friends - so if some tool wants to rip them and claim them as his own, he only makes a fool of himself, not me. If they want to rip, and fail to credit me I also don't care.
This thread is the release of the vehicle and additional usage instruction as I would enjoy other people using the chopper in other game types - it's a fun vehicle once you get used to it.
The entire purpose of HEK is to rip content, learn from it and hopefully inspire custom content - I recognize that my maps are different, and not typical of halo lore - which I happen to find boring and unimaginative. It's a pretend game based on killing your friends and extra terrestrial beings, where if you get killed, you magically resurrect. Too many people are ego invested in the process and forget it's a game created for entertainment.
I invite anyone and everyone to rip anything they want and hopefully inspire them create new customized content for all to enjoy. It doesn't mean I encourage anyone to take credit for someone elses work, but to modify it as you see fit, to your liking and to your enjoyment.

Friggintards . . . please go play in the street without a helmet, and don't look both ways - trust me you will be fine.
Dear Lord, please let the process of natural selection take it's course in a quick and merciful manner, and please forgive me and be with the pygmies down in new guinea, amen.

Life is hard, buy a helmet. Also Altheros may rips but he gives credits though, Even he don't credit, He don't claim it as his own.So i claim Altheros or his other nicknames as a good person, Anyway his acting like MasterChief and Arby n' the Chief. The more you guys talk to his horrible attitude, The more you guys get fooled. And who would someone use his real attitude in a internet forum of a game? So he acts like MasterChief in Arby n' the Chief so quit talking about personal crap and just reply to Halo related things. P.S Non of Altheros attitude is not real. His just acting. Right... about that.
