ok guys, i'm back, thanks to the spv3 trailer i saw. i got halo custom edition (again, and yes, it is legit and everything) on my windows 7 ultimate, and i downloaded the 1.09 patch. i click to install it, but it comes up with a message saying "halo is not installed on your computer. halo is required to run it." but i have halo pc on my pc! mystified, i click on the halo ce update thing, and run it as adimistrator (also, i AM the administrator.) but, to my anger, a message comes up saying: "there was a file access problem.you must be logged into windows as a user with admin rights." but i AM THE ADMIN! i see if the game works; it does, but when i go online, it checks for an update, and it says an update is available. i click on it, it goes to download, then..... "there was a file access problem.you must be logged into windows as a user with admin rights."

HELP!!! i want to be apart of the future multiplayer of halo custom edition (thanks to the OS thing), but i cant!!!! HELP!!!

EDIT: i fixed it. it turns out you shouldn't move the installation folder before patching. so i reinstalled. problem solved. :D

Redownload the Halo Custom Edition installer from this website, and delete your old installer.
Uninstall your current Halo Custom Edition, then install and run CCleaner from this website:
http://www.ccleaner.com
Do both the file cleaning and registry cleaning in CCleaner.
When you're done, restart your computer. Then install Halo Custom Edition with the installer you just downloaded.
(run it in Safe mode if you must; if not disable your antivirus software and disconnect from the internet while you are running the installer).
When you're done installing, redownload the 1.09ce patch from this website and try running it (also disable your antivirus software while doing so and disconnect from the internet).
Make sure both the installer and patch are run as administrator.

When you're done, come back here and tell us your results.

don't worry dude, i fixed it, it was just that as soon as i installed the game, it installed in the wrong folder, so i moved it to my preferred folder, and then tried to update it, but since i moved the folder, it couldn't find the folder it was originally supposed to be installed in, so it thought that i didn't have halo installed. but prob solved.
