Hello. I'm a newcomer to this community, and I thought I'd start small with my mapping career by just modifying an existing map. Because I have no modelling skill whatsoever, I'll probably be doing that for a while. None of these tags are mine (not even the ice bitmaps which I laid on top of everything, I found them online), but I did make a few changes in Guerrilla like weapon accuracy, zoom distance, etc. Here's what I have so far: Critiquing, suggestions, and comments are all welcome. There are a few things I want to add to this map that I myself can't, because it gives me an exception whenever I try to do so. :/ They're relatively simple things, mostly just a few weapons and a sky, so send me a personal message if you'd like to help. I'd really appreciate it! :D P.S. I did not add a lower weapon function despite how some of the screenshots may look. That's just the beginning of the pullout animation so you can see more.

Very good start.
If possible, you should see if you can extract the entire bsp model and recompile it with proper uvs. The textures look awful on all the rpg beta maps because OpsY was lazy. -.-
Once/if you fix the uvs, get a new snow texture or ask me to get you one because that one looks very low quality.

Could you tell me how to do this/direct me to a tutorial/tell me somebody that can teach me how? As I said before, I have no modelling experience. If I decide not to redo the UVs, I'll just say that I'm helping out people with lower-end systems.

Hey, I noticed you're using the Halo 3 Pelican there. Is it still screwed up, or did you fix the problems it had?

Like a said before, I have no experience with modelling, animating, or making my own (non-item collection) tags, so it's still broken. :(

That's a shame. I personally wouldn't advise using it then, because it would probably annoy some people.
Unless someone is willing to fix it.

You should get OS and support OS if you have the time btw.
Although as a newbie mapper, it might be best if you work on the map a bit more before trying OS. OS's documentation seems to assume people already have experience.

The protection was stripped, and the person who did it pinned the blame on ODST Nick. I figure I could help make something good come from somebody's bad judgement.

I don't play CE much anymore, But tomorrow I think I may just have a look at this.

There was a snow version in 6.2's dev but it was cut very late, I don't quite remember why. the original beta6.2 has a weather system controlled by the host.

With OS,
Is it possible to have 2 BSPs overlaying each other, but with one inactive until a script is run?
Because then, couldn't you, in theory, create one grassy bsp like the original beta 6.2, and one snowy bsp. Then in-game, run a command to activate the snowy bsp at any time.
I have no idea if it's possible because I'm not a mapper, but is it?
