yo just got ce like a few days ago and downloaded a bunch of maps. and i noticed most maps dont show up on servers. is this normal? seems like a waste. so many cool maps unused. and i have like 300 something servers is that normal? should i have more? srry for the noob question. thanks

It's typical halo custom edition these days. Most server will only run the stock maps. Don't ask me why, but people won't host custom maps anymore because most people want to play bloodgulch more than custom maps. I believe the most popular ones are CMT Snowgrove, Coldsnap, and Hugeass. It's actually quite sad, but you are better off creating or organizing a gamenight to play custom maps more than finding a descent server.

It'd help if Bungie linked people to this site in the news area on the server list. A lot of people probably just don't know about custom maps, and get CE from different sources.

It's just sad.

People would rather spend all of their money hosting stock-only servers, even the Spanish.

nowadays I just join servers to draw all over the bases with 'mah trusty Assault Rifle :P

The only reason I don't quit is because I make personal maps to play with my kids <

Telling the truth, Halo CE is D E A D I still download new maps but just to look/view them to see how good they are, I remember when people downloaded the new maps soon they all came out but I guess everyones gone and in Reach now. Really sad but what the other guy said people only play the maps like coldsnap, I hardly ever see Cmt snow or hugeass anymore shoot they even stop playing the Zelda map.

Bring me back to 2006 please....

get version changer and change it to 1.00 there is over 2000 people and also immure is a popular map.

to know what maps are most unused you would have to start with looking up what servers run which maps on a rotation 24/7.
you can start with the realworld & outaworld servers that run a good cycle of custom map packs.

\TF/ halo ce clan server runs a good cycle of custom maps.
RP & RPG servers run custom map cycles too.

best thing to do is look at what the servers are running.
obviously there are far more maps up for download than will ever get ran on servers,
so to ask what are the most unused maps would mean listing almost every map on this
site.
run your own server, and run some more custom maps.
there is no point in relying on other server owners to run the maps you want, they might not like the same maps and unless they post a thread to say they need suggestions for a mapcycle or have a clan website to go to, then basically you would just need to have every map that halomaps holds, and put up with a slow loading haloce game.
