Man time flies. Just think... It's 2012..... A lot of us here started doing this stuff 5-6 years ago... Some of us even longer... I've like grown up with some of y'all in a sense. Anyone remember loading up CE and seeing random maps all the time, and then seeing many servers on hugeass, cold snap, h2_coag, and some of the other old ones. Oh, chaos gulch. Anyone want to share some of your favorite memories in CE? Im sure they were from when you first started playing..

I never really thought about it before, but now that you mention it, I can remember back when hugeass was a new map and coldsnap was a WIP.

Also, I wonder whatever happened to all those random ripped tag and ai maps I made back then.(At least I had enough sense to NOT release them)

I've been playing since early 2010 or late 2009, but I remember that I would play a bunch of games on the RPG beta 5 maps, and when RPG beta 6 came out, I loved it.

My best memory was in RPG beta 6_2 when we had 6 players, and we made a coordinated role play where me and somebody else were students, while my friend was driving around in a pelican waiting to place a ytac nuke inside the school. We had an evil teacher, and the goal was to activate the nuke, protect the president (who lagged out of the game) and then activate halo to kill everything.
That was so much fun.

Another time we played a game and made a video called halo ce buttsex edition or something like that. Those were good days. Now all my friends play is call of duty mw and mw2. Those days were good though. :)

Ever since I've started playing halo, I've moved to 4 different computer, and everytime I've tried to make a map for halo custom edition, I've had something to do, and it would take months, so I'd quit. But now that things are fairly permanent with my computer, I believe I could start making these maps again, and hopefully finish one.

I remember back in 07 or 08 I saw Something called "Halo Custom Edition" And thought it was pretty awesome. Youtube videos were playing on maps like Coldsnap and Hugeass, But my Computer was Crap. Come to think of it, I Maybe could have been able to run Halo CE, But I forget the specs... I think it was a Single core 2.2 GHz or something with only 40gb of space, So I Didn't start playing CE Until Oct 09 When I got a new Computer...... Anyway, Playing on those maps were awesome...Especially If you were playing with peopl who Didn't "Play" Play all of the time and sometimes liked to RP, Stunt, Or just do random s*** and Maybe put it on Youtube.

This forum is where I got my ego from. Being here for a long time can really make someone quite arrogant to be honest.

Anyway, my favourite map of all time is certainly hugeass. Hugeass was brilliant when it first came out. There's so much potential that some people just ignore.

Skydiving and night fighting are the best playthroughs of hugeass. The night glitch is especially awesome because hugeass is a huge map and it's very fun trying to find your way around in a warthog at nighttime.

Nowadays, if somebody makes a hugeass server, aimbots ruin it. -.-

I started playing Halo since it came out.. then when custom edition came out at that time, it wasn't really that appealing. But it was a few years later around 07-08 that Custom Edition and I crossed paths again and I saw some amazing stuff and THAT's when I downloaded CE. It's really amazing on how the CE stuff changed from then to now. I've got to say, it's pretty crazy..

Been playing since 06. Corvette, remember when me and Roxas would beta your mods? Haha. Back in 06 - 08 were the prime days of CE. Some say that its still the same, but it really just isn't. Quite frankly alot of the "bad" maps, such as Coldsnap, Hugeass, and alot of the A.I maps are what inspired me to become a mapper myself.

I miss the days when there were about 5 times as many active servers as their are now, and i remember when there were like 10-15 servers running chronopolis map, i loved that map we would all be trying to find a free server with a few slots available, and then all trying to rush to the koto an d get it before someone else would,or try to stop the person with it because they were abusing it and letting the blades bounce around till the server crashed. Ah those were the good days. Didn't get to play it as often as i wanted to then because of schoolwork load. Also remember when sanctuary came out, me and my friends would try it out and use dev mode over rcon to the best of our abilities, then i would rcon into the host and type quit and piss everyone off...

i remember it was 2005 and i was just a youngin' haha. I'd just finished playin halo 2 and was on youtube looking for secrets and skulls, when i came across a video that said something about an assault rifle hidden in halo 2. When i watched it i saw the guy with a br switching back from an assault rifle, i knew it wasn't h2, but still didn't know it was ce. Then i eventually caught on; it was called halo custom edition, and I was amazed at what i saw in the videos. I saved up and finally bought halo pc that month. I remember being so amazed with everything! At the time I was constantly lookin for new halo secrets because i was bored of h1 and h2, then i stumbled upon a gold mine! Halo CE has hands down given me the best gaming experience of my life, and still does today! Even when I'm playin Reach or H3 i start to miss some of the stuff i can do in ce. Hope this community is around for a long time, seems like your all getting to new places with blam! I thought it couldn't get any better in like 2008, but it just keeps getting better! thanks to all you dudes, you've straight up demolished my boredom for years lol, keep it up, without you all this game would go no where. :D

Back in 08 as halopro77 was amazing. Everyone had there "n00b" years where a group of new comers on halo maps and expanded there skills together. It was actually quite beautiful. And there was the year of "loljesse" in 09. Brings a tear to my eye...

Oooh I remember the old days.

I heard about CE & kept watching vids of it since late '07, then I got a new CD key in '08. It started from the epic mass vehicle driving to the awesome RP's to wanting to mod maps to begining modeling to me now.

I have to say, the quality has shot up ALOT since 2005. Oh the good ol' days ;3
