Hi,

I'm planning to make a new PC but as Windows is so expensive, I'll probably end up using Ubuntu which doesn't have DirectX.

So, can anyone tell me if Halo works on Linux operating systems?

it didn't last build I had checked a few months ago (There is plenty of new builds, so I'll probably try again when im sitting around at college waiting for buses). I was thinking of adding a error report to the google code page, but decided not to.

WINE but otherwise linux is incompatible with a ton of apps

also using a loader/emulator/dualboot will bottleneck your systems capabilities which is why windows costs a whopping 100 bucks.

A slight downgrade in my system's capabilities isn't much of an issue. I'm looking at some seriously powerful equipment for my PC. I might even look at getting an extra 4GB Ram(Making the total 8GB, which is more than anyone needs. The motherboard I'm planning to buy supports 16GB but nothing uses that anyway). So yeah, my computer should be able to run most games fine even with an emulator downgrading it a little.

Also, kirby, can OS run in proxy? I have no idea what proxy is but enbseries has it and lets you run anything else d3d9 through proxy.
And I think both WINE and OpenSauce run through d3d9 so could they work together through proxy?

uh

what

@thread

Halo can be installed on linux fine usually, but the results you get when actually playing it can vary from not working at all, to working fine with a few errors, so don't expect much.

Hmm, well after checking out some WINE-related sites, I think I'll probably just get a cheap copy of Vista for my gaming needs as most games seem have quite a lot of errors on WINE.
