Hey guys what's the best way to stop mexic... I mean "people" from pinging you because they are butthurt you are doing well in a server and their countr... I mean they happen to have a place with bad internet connection? It's really ticking me off especially when my ping is 33 and my screen is showing more like 500. Yes I have restarted recently, no xfire is not on, no I am not downloading porn (though I bet they are)... ahem, anyway, yeah how can I stop these attacks by these fags?

well if you don't know what I mean then I won't say it because it may give some people some ideas and people that do this may gain an advantage, but they can also go suck a ****. It pretty much can take a key good player and destroy their playing ability.

Not the server, the person. You are always pinging the server. That is how you get ping updates ingame. You do understand what a ping is right?
A ping is a small packet sent to a IP that is then sent back to the original machine and it tells how long it took to get there and back in milliseconds.

This is sort of an example right here of the circular path it follows.

Now imagine someone has a program to detect your IP then send a crapton of pings to you every second. That's a lot of extra traffic you have to process, and even though you can contact the game server with a 33 ms ping, the insane amount of added traffic on your network from the faggot that has you pinged makes you PLAY like you have almost 300 ping or maybe more.

Get a program to hide your real IP address.
Maybe...

You Could Use peerguardian to see witch ip's are sending you a crapton of traffic, and then manually ad that ip to your blocklist.

That would stop him :) , but you might not be able to connect to that server while hes in it.

E: Oh and hes talking about a DOS (Denial Of Service) Attack.

Ya know, since every single one of the dedicated servers seem to be cracked, why not play rough until you get someone banned(maybe your cheater)?
