Smoke and Mirrors, it's not really a shine effect. I cheated at it hehe. but looks good ingame

It is bloomed. Like I said, I cheated a little- The real version still looks good, but thats what my Halo is set with.

Ooooh, okay. i thought that the shaders were simulating a bloom effect without any outside help from another program, my bad :P....i wander... be back in a minute.

So i noticed that in every shader_environment tag there is a lens_flare section. i was wandering what is this, how do you use it, is it possible to make a 3-D glow like bloom with this?


Sorry was that off topic :/ my bad. But i love the odst. one thing i will say, if you don't mind, the skin of that girl looks a little too plastic. she looks like she's wearing to much makeup, in my opinion. :/. just a a suggestion to make it look a little more human. add some skin detail maps and make the color a little more faded and blended

You can specify a lens flare tag and a distance in world-units. When a bsp is compiled using a shader which uses those properties (or maybe just updated using the "structure-lens-flares" command in tool, I don't remember if that does what its name implies), lens flares are automatically distributed along the surface of that shader, each separated by the given distance. You can use this for "bloom"-type stuff but be careful not to go too crazy with the lens-flare density or you'll get something that looks strange and possibly goes over the maximum number of flares drawn (which just looks strange).

Well, obviously that crewmember wants to look pretteh. Anyway, SWEET WORK ONT HE ODST! Did I see a hint of reach tacpad there...

Love the girl, looks pretty nice. It should look a tad more realistic, maybe freckles would do it?

Yes, She does. I'll probably wind up rigging it to the Marine anims and going from there- if I made fully custom ones it may wind up extending the time of this project far beyond what I want it to be, however- most of the anims will be custom. I have fantastic animators and am failry good at it myslef

Possibly, as par my nice/giving side, I will public all of the tags, models anims textures and maps for community use, I'm just worried Khajied will find herself in a million blood gulch mods. But, ohwell. We'll have to see when we get there.


Also, I made an elite entirely out of primitives, it looks like feces. (profanity filter.)

I like the robot leg, besides, it's halo and not Paris Runway. I think the leg adds character and is unique to halo ce, plus I think it matchs good and makes for some interesting story telling
