I'm pretty sure I made a thread about this a long time ago, but I lost it...

Anyway, the point is, I can't join any servers with custom maps.
The servers with stock maps work perfectly. It's just the custom ones.
I've already tried reinstalling, but that hasn't done anything.

I really want to play a game with custom maps... It's been over 2 months now.

E: Yes my filters are set up to show all maps and servers. Full or not.

Although it should go without saying, just in case: Be sure you have the maps that are playing on the server installed before you try to join the game. There is no in-game download of maps like some other video games.

I have the map the server is using. An example is coldsnap.

I load it up on my computer as host and the map is fine. When I try to join a server with coldsnap, it says game has closed down when the server is still running.

Try loading it up with:
Create Game
>>Internet Game

instead of LAN.

Umm...the issue is that he can't join servers with custom maps, even though he has the specific map installed in his maps folder.

Personally, I don't know what's up. Maybe you altered your port settings to allow people to join your server(s), but forgot to return them to default?

I'm pretty sure he pirated the game, I've seen too many people ask this same question before.. You can't play on 1.08+ online with a CD Key that has been used way too many times with custom maps, hence why there are so many people playing original maps.

I'll try putting my ports to default.

And I do have a legit CD key. I have never shared my key with anyone.

E: So... I'm stuck? Never to play custom maps again?
