If that's not simple enough, I'm having vague recollections of an unused "flashlight on" animation in .model_animations tags, which is pretty self-explanatory.

So say if I had a script that activates jetpack with flashlight... if I had a jetpack model on a 3P biped, would it be possible to that when flashlight is activated, the jets on the jetpack pop out (animation) and... be like Halo Reach's jetpack?

Didn't someone toy around with this? I remember Choking Victim made a video of the assault rifle turning the flashlight on and off but the time frame never synced because the flashlight would turn on instantly. Edited by XlzQwerty1 on Oct 19, 2011 at 08:17 AM

It cannot be accomplished as is. The FP animation for Flashlight is "broken" as it is in the CE engine, thus, the flashlight animation does not work. Choking Victim got it to work through OS, for instance.

For 3p you can easily make a pose for the jet-pack using an overlay animation. Idk if it would work fine, because it would make like 3-4 overlays used at the same time, so it might be crap.
But reading script topics here and there, I guess you can use a script making the player change of UNIT to use different animations when the flashlight function is enabled, but that would need some animation work, like remaking a few overlays and pose.
I let people work on this, I guess I can quickly make and include those animations in a cyborg model anim if someone can change the player UNIT with the script.
