We all very well know that Halo has terrible netcode, the shots don't sync properly and you have to lead your shots and basically hope that you're leading the proper amount.

You may know that the needler is not affected as much by lag because the needles follow their target.

So theoretically if you made all of the weapons (assault rifle, pistol, etc.) have a certain amount of target tracking, you could significantly reduce the effects of lag when it comes to shooting.

Is it a good idea?

quite on the contrary, this could also ruin the gameplay right?? like snipers would then slightly track targets, rockets do the same and fuel rods too....just saying.

sure the pistol already has a certain amount of lock-on.
if you haven't noticed it, get a friend to stand still, aim at his head, torso,
and move the reticle away from him slightly, you see how the reticle is till red?
someone had shown images of it, i can't remember the thread.

ping low = lesser lead.
unsteady or dropping out internet connection = more lead.
higher ping = more lead.

if the weapons had anymore of a lock on feature then you would stand no chance of enjoying a game against those with lower pings than yourself.
33 pinger with more lock-on?

How about something that changes the offset of someone's visual model based on their ping?

Also, everyone would need that varient of the map with the lock on.
And sometimes lag is so bad you cant actually shoot or move. (Dumb Mexican 56kpbs internet hosts. //Not me, I mean the server hosts.)Also, its not gonna track well or long enough.

Don't do it with the weapons that don't need it. Probably only the pistol, sniper, ect.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention that. The rocket launcher, fuel rod, and flamethrower wouldn't need it. The weaker weapons that don't the explosion could benefit. Of course you would have to adjust the amount of tracking each weapon has, but I think it has potential.
