If you've got a map that is upload-ready, but you feel needs (or you just want) beta testing, send me an email to ReachIsBeast@Gmail.com with the .zip folder containing the map and I'd be more than happy to set up a public or privite beta for you, as well as issue polls to the testers so they can rate the map. If any major changes are needed, I will send you an email with a detailed list of anything that needs to be fixed/changed. Although I would host/moderate the server, I want it to be your project. Let me know when you want the server active, if you want it closed (password protected) or public, what gametypes (for custom gametypes, be sure to email me a .zip folder with the gametype so it will work on the server), how many players, etc. As the server host, however, I reserve the right to the server password if you want the beta to be closed to the public. I will inform you right away if I have to change the password for any reason.

Oh, yeah, and I'll do it for free. ;)

CBA'd to email you, but I still need beta testing for my Adjutant Map Pack: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=7GD0EVBK

However, be warned, the .ZIP file is a whopping 250Mb as there are FIVE (5) maps within the .ZIP file.

You can rotate gametypes as you wish, according to what the Read-Me states is available for each individual map.

If possible, host the maps 24/7, otherwise host on weekends. Public, not private, obviously, as it's a Public Beta version.

In the future to help reduce the packet size, try .zip-ing each map individually, then putting them all into another .zip folder. That should make it a little less heavy (and it won't cost as much to carry on the airline ;) )

I've already downloaded UBE Chief's map pack, soI have to fufill the beta with him first, but go ahead and email me your map and readme (they MUST be in a .zip folder, otherwise it will be too big to send). Send it to the email adress I included above in my initial post. Be sure to include in the .zip file any custom games that you created just for the map, and be sure to let me know what game types the map is compatible with. I'll PM you when I get close to putting yours up.

I already tried that, but all it did was save ~1-2Mb - not much in the long run, even when compressed into a .RAR file (both as one large file and in seperate into one, as you suggested).

It has to stay like that also to prevent anyone from releasing any of the maps in the Map Pack early - because, let's face it, who'd want to download a 250Mb .ZIP file (that can take anywhere from 20-40 minutes to download) only to release the same maps as-is? :P

Good point, and well thought. I'll get to work anouncing the beta right away.

And that means....... ANYTHING? I am not saying he is not trustworthy. I am saying HE JOINED 12 DAYS AGO. If you ever plan to release anything, why would you let ANYONE who joined after 12 days have it. Granted I know you did a public beta, so you don't really count in this case. Like I said, he may be trustworthy... or not. You simply don't just join a content based forum and start asking for all the betas on your server. :/
Trust me, it just looks bad unless you are a person whose account was banned but people know it's you.

Might as well give him a chance, though. Not all new members are ripping, tag hogging SOB's who pre-release stuff and claims it as their own.

Yes but in this community it is guilty until proven innocent. Also Dennis will teach us that if we don't want things preleased, then we should give them to no one but our closest and most reliable friends or, even safer, no one at all.
If someone prominent in the community happens to know him and can vouch for him though, then things may change, but actually, A LOT of people who join here are in fact these ripping, tag hogging SOB's.
But anyway, 12 days. Not saying he isn't trustworthy, it's just an odd thing that someone who joined after 12 days is willing to just set up a server for people to beta. I mean hell, it could be one of these SOB's new duplicate accounts. I'm just saying 12 days is not enough to be so bold as to volunteer your services as one who would be receiving betas to maps.

Well, I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt. Whether or not anyone else does is up to them.

Fair enough. I'll let you be the judge. The beta will be open for 2 weeks; if, in that time period, I recieve legitimate accusations for stealing credit for the maps/tags/models/whatever, then you will have proved yourself right. It seems as though you do not fully trust what I say, so I'll let the community tell you. (I will tell you this- I am a strong believer in personal pride and I would never even consider taking credit for some one else's work. People who do that really are liars and cheats, and I do not want to be associated with such people.)

I don't want to be your enemy- I'm just saying that it takes more than a first glance to truly understand the situation. (and let's face it- at least I didn't propose this on day 1.)

True true, and I will give you what credit is due when it comes to it. Myself, I am a very giving person and probably wouldn't mind a beta test of something of mine on your servers since I don;t care about self credit really, but I just want you to understand where I am coming from. You must admit, it is a bit unorthadox.

I understand perfectly where you're coming from, eliteslasher, and I understand your concern. Sometimes, though, following the crowd isn't always the best route (especially if they're lemmings XD). Granted, however, it's not always a bad thing to do what everyone does in the same way that they do it, but sometimes you have to take some risks, and you might be suprised at the possible rewards.
