Greetings! During the past few months, I've been looking over different maps on HaloMaps.org (primarily those without detailed/any descriptions) and compiling detailed, comprehensive written reports on these maps for you to read- for free. These evaluations can be found on my website, www.TheMapReader.net .

The site also has a facebook page; just search for TheMapReader.net (the picture is the Halo Custom Edition logo). Oh, yeah, and be sure to 'like' it, too.

Finally, after many tests and trials, I am happy to announce that the website now has its own dedicated server. More information on the server can be found on the website. The server will go live between 7 and 8 PM Central Time today (September 5th, 2011). The theme is Big Team Battle. Check the website for the list of maps and the download links. I triple-M the server (Monitor, Manage and Moderate), and I will not hesitate to boot and/or ban repeat betrayers (I will always assume that the first time is an accident). Also, I'll be jumping in from time to time, just to make sure that everyone is playing nice.

I am The Not-So-Silent-Cartographer. I'll see you starside.

(QUICK UPDATE: The server is now live! Join at will!)

avg website/link scanner report: http://www.avgthreatlabs.com/sitereports/domain/webs.com/

when the link is searched with http://www.siteadvisor.com/
the page leads to here: http://uk.search.yahoo.com/search?p=http://themapreader.webs.com/&fr=mcsaoffblock takes you to members list on halomaps.

the site states that you need adobe to view the evaluation documents, so i let them load up.
seems fine.
also: registered on it, same as any website told to confirm email address.
still no email recived to confirm account on the site.

the site you have the link to in your original post.

edit:

signed up, btw you have only 2 or 3 evaluations done out of all the maps you have listed.
would have been a wiser move to complete your evaluations at least for the maps you have listed.
goodluck anyway.

Yeah, I was going to do a whole bunch all at once, but life happened :) I'll correct that right away.

(I got the email saying you signed up, so all good there.)

is it just the list of maps that are already listed on your site that you will be doing a personal evaluation on?
maybe ask in your thread what are the most popular maps and what maps people would like to see your thoughts on.
unless you plan to do them all that is.

Been thinking about that, actually, and I see your point- that's a lot of maps! I think I'll take your suggestion and take monthly polls, or something like that ( I am about to compile an evaluation of the map "esther", which I've noticed is now the highest rated map on HaloMaps.org. Here's the catch, though: If you want to see it early, you need to be a site member, which I know you are, ally). I'll get a new topic out there asking for requests.

yeah indeed there are a lot of maps, the monthly poll might make things easier for you.

Two questions (and I will be posting these on www.TheMapReader.net as well): What map/gametype combos would y'all like me to put on our public server for the week of 9/12/11, and which of the following maps would you like me to do an evaluation for this next week? A.) Mystic, B.) Ambush, or C.) Coldsnap (map with the most votes by midnight on Sunday night/Monday morning will get a complete evaluation done and posted on the website by Saturday, September 17th. Please only one vote per post per person)

I'd like to see Precipiece and Revelations hosted sometime you're not hosting beta tests. 2 excellent quality maps that seem to get no play. I only noticed them recently while reading this thread.

but, on another note, if you could host a beta session to get the wasp balancing dialed in, that'd be great. I'm working on either an Immure 3 mod, or something styled after Immure I haven't thought of a name for yet.

He's hosting people's maps on a dedicated server (he's using v1.09). Right now, he has my Adjutant Map Pack loaded up onto his server. That's schedueled to come down in about a week from now.

Then he's going to host someone elses' map(s), and so forth.

I think his website is to promote it, or something :x

Actually, it's kind of the opposite... The main purpose of the site is to provide detailed, comprehensive written reports on custom/modified multiplayer maps on HaloMaps.org for you to view for free. You do not have to be a site member in order to view them. The dedicated server is something that I put out there as a way to help promote the site. By offering to host a beta, I'm hoping for an I'll-do-that-if-you'll-do-this kind of deal; I'll host your public/privite beta on a dedicated server, and in return, I would like it if you promoted my site, though you are not obligated to do so. (It would be nice, though :) )

Hope this answers your question, Slayer117.

At the moment, the server name is called Adjutant Map Pack Public Beta, as the server is promoting my map pack. But, after my "contract" expires, and NSSC moves on to another map set, it's going to be named something else.

Yeah, I guess Megaupload didn't sign a contract with Singapore stating that we're allowed to download files that are up to 250GB. It's just so strange that we didn't get any cool privileges on American websites(like being able to watch videos on Funimation)because we're just as internet savvy as Alaska(or was it Russia?).

It's actually 250 MB, not GB (which would be over half of my hard drive space)

looks like i'm losing internet soon, so I uploaded immure3beta to halomaps. Host it if you like when you see it. Maybe some fun can be had with it.
