Looks like the standard H1 Grunt with Arby's Armor glued on. very poor glue at that...

I think the grunt with Arbiters armour looks pretty good, in Halo CE I expect nothing too be perfect due too a 10 year old engine, and this stuff looks difficult to make.

Im typing this on my new android phone. Excuse typos.

My computer is getting a full Fail 7 reinstall and am picking it up tomorrow.
School day after.
Will continue work when I receive my computer and get it back into order.
For now; I am drawing encounter plans and working it out. Think its going good.

Good, but keep in mind all of the possible changes in the BSP that might happen. We don't want to change the BSP to the point to where all of the encounters you planned don't work.

I know I know.
And I plan to include some forerunner structures and a few covenant bases.
I'm gonna use part of the BSP you sent me in the first part. I'll upload pictures tomorrow; when I receive my computer and reinstall xfire and 3ds max and a lot of other stuff.

I textured it with World Machine 2 Basic. I also re-displaced the terrain from a heightmap I rendered of the original Icy Winds obj file, because the triangulation was jacked and it was way too high poly to re-triangulate manually.
I didn't much like how it looks like soft ice cream. It's slopes do need more cliff-ness. The texture could be improved on too. I might revisit it, though I'd like to see that something's actually gonna get done with it before I invest more time into it.
I think you guys should focus on the scenario and an encounter, and just stick with the tried and true stock objects for now. You could design the encounter and the environment around each other. Scenery structures can be merged into the bsp later on.

It will get done I can guarantee that, but if you wish to see that we are serious about doing it, I will start scripting what I have right now. Originally I wanted to wait until we had things like tagsets and the BSP decided. However, I will go ahead and start populating and scripting the map into it's basic form, just to prove that we are serious.

You are always welcome to do anything to the BSP that you see fit, and we will use it. Thanks.

i dont think you read the "Nothing here is final" thing in the beginning

BSP is ok, it just needs some modding and tweaking.

There's a reason this is given the plot it already has bro. As For free-roam. You had that choice in H3 ODST's New Mombasa Streets, and i can tell you its a pain in the butt (especially since you have to walk everywhere until you unlock the supply caches with the mongooses)

Giving it a shield won't help... they are not able to look good or strong, unless re-designed. Putting part of the arbiter model on it isn't going to make it look better at all...

And I want to see well made assets, not rushed with bad textures... I don't care what they are as long as they look good and are made well...

Ideally you could go ahead and take those H3 Grunts and modify the armor. (H3 ones cuz H1 Grunts looks like trash)

Obviously his armor would need to be black, but a good idea would be to give him armor similar to the Elites, The Gas Mask could end up being a large incorporation to your design as well. If im not mistaken, Some higher ranked grunts had different styles of Methane chambers to make them harder to find and etc. Maybe create armor that works around that and use it to get a flowing idea of how you want the rest of the design to look like

Definitely H3 Grunts.
I also think he should have something like the prophets rags since he's a deacon.

Though, the Heretic Grunts from H2 had a nice Methane Chamber design, try doing something similar to that

IN OTHER NEWS; Just watched Higuy's 40 minute long Video tutorial on modeelling at 1am, and will now commence modelling of the bsp.

Thats some retarded logic you've got there bro. Grunts arent meant to look cute and cuddly. There supposed to look like they can hurt people. It's basically like saying "Oh, in Crysis 1 the Aliens were Blue and now they're red? whats up with that?" even though it's explained that they're different alien species, or in Doom 3, "The Hell Knights used to be so small and looked liek minataurs, now they're massive?!" Where the hell knights weren't properly made

3? What do you mean. Halo 1 and Halo 2 were the only ones where they were cute, and in halo 2, they werent "Cute", just better modeled. Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Reach and Halo Wars all contain the More hardened grunts. Regardless of how Halo becomes COD, The Grunts werent, and still arent too menacing and WILL still act the same. I dont know about you.

What are you on about now? That the art style in reach was a little different? That Reach was meant from its creators mouths to be a grittier game? Oh no no, we cant have grunts that aren't cute!!?? OH GOD NOOOO!!! This is pathetic, condemn a perfectly good game, because it has a different art style, or because the grunts aren't as cute. The grunts still act the same way in this game, they run away from you and act silly, except they don't do it in english anymore, yet oh no, we can't take that...

I'm personally in favor of all Halo 2 stuff. But, Zteam never released their weapons or anything, so all I have is Halo 2 bipeds. Which would be an awkward combo with Halo 3 weapons. So I'm stuck on what of which to use. Jesse once said he had a Halo 2 tagset at one point, but...

I guess it really doesn't matter to much, Spartan 279 want's everything Halo 3, so if you want something different, better speak now.
