Or you could just run the HEK programs as administrator.

Quote: --- Original message by: ShadowFox0809 Thanks Maniac1000! I know how to, but I didn't try yet, to set all of my programs to be run as administrator. However, I think I'll just disable the UAC because: 1.) I can always turn it back on 2.) I'm in a secure home network 3.) I'm only going to sites such as this and other familiar sites (nowhere I could get a virus) Still a VERY bad idea.

I don't have UAC on, or a firewall/anti-virus and I haven't gotten ANY viruses. Trust me, even with UAC you can still get viruses, and you're probably more likely, because you're going to be LESS careful. I still find it to be a VERY good idea. The whole compatibility files thing, isn't even really useful, it usually just gets in the way.

In terms of using any programs involving the HEK (HEK+, Guerilla, Sapien, CMD/Tool) always Right Click and then Run As Administrator. Problems with saving anything are remedied without turning off some important system failsafes in flipping Windows 7.

Seriously guys? You really don't need UAC ive turned it off since the first day I got my first windows 7 os installed and I've never had a virus? Its called get a good antivirus program and you don't have to worry about it. Just turn of the UAC and it should fix your problem.

Although i started the "turn off uac" talk, i would like to remind you guys that Dennis always comes in and says that turning off uac is a bad idea, and he knows more about this than i do for sure. So i am just saying that i just did it because i could not get it working through the ownership system, for w/e reason, but it might not be a good idea for you.

Right click on your Halo Custom Edition folder -> Properties -> Security Tab -> Edit -> Your Username -> Check Full Control I'm going to quote myself. This is the best method. It stops the compatibility files problem and lets you keep UAC on. Edited by chrisk123999 on Aug 13, 2011 at 04:35 PM
