Anyway, that flamethrower idea's awesome. If it gets added, then there could be missions based on it such as infiltrating a covie camp and burning all of their equipment. ;)

It's a defoliant projector. So its actual purpose would be.... burning plants.... But screw that, let's kill stuff! Quote: --- Original message by: mastur cheef I don't know why, but a flamthrower feels more effective on flood than on covies. It's a flamethrower. It's effective against everything that isn't fully encased in armor plating. Works on Hunters and low-flying aircraft, too. Edited by Echo77 on Aug 21, 2011 at 12:40 PM

If you want the source I may be able to find it.
Edit: Do you mean the one at the top of that thread or the one in snow grove, cause that's the V2 one. The one used in snow grove. I like how it's really simple and conveys everything you need to know about the gun. Did you design it yourself? I especially like that it uses a bar meter for every weapon because alpha-ing 30 + bullet meters is really annoying and time consuming. Source images would be cool if you have them :o

This will never be finished IMO just like 97% of my own projects What makes you think that? They've set forward a pretty ambitious project but if the team doesn't fall apart like last time, I think they can finish it. learn from the past.. they are gonna get bored of it again and stop progress and rely on one person then when that person stops work it will fall crashing down... not trying to start a war. but who knows they could pull it off this time.

You know SPV2 was the only promise we ever made that we didn't follow through on. There's a dozen maps that CMT has released on time that were fairly popular.

That's a ridiculous question and always has been - it's not like we have some progress meter we can go look at and say "oh - according to these calculations we're at 45% and rising!!" It's a subjective thing and depends on a lot of stuff that hasn't happened yet, we literally could not give a percentage is we wanted to because that implies there is some solid, reliable and reusable means of calculating something like this when some things haven't even been decided on.
Maybe if we invested in some sort of project-task-management software we could give something of an answer but of course even those aren't immune to the aforementioned problems and that's not the issue here (and also we don't want to do such a thing just to be able to answer these questions my God what am I even doing talking about this). It's a fluid process not something like "oh we just need X amount of time and work and then it will magically be done". Even if we gave a realistic estimate of the percentage of raw work left to do that still wouldn't be able to cover refinement, polish and bug fixing since those are all handled on an as-they-come-up basis. As the adage goes: "one you're done with the first 90%, you still have the other 90%."
When we're ready to say "we're almost done so expect release information soon" we'll say it. Edited by teh lag on Aug 22, 2011 at 10:35 PM
