Ok, so I finally fixed my map to the point where when I used the bluesteak jms exporter and this time at the bottom of the screen there was a progress bar and no errors. The problem is I can't find the .jms
I know you have to make a directory in your data folder with subfolder like bitmaps, models, etc. So to make that work, do I just put my .gmax map model into the models folder, and then have that gmax file open and export the jms like that or what?

Why are there two threads for this?
lol whatever...
Make sure you're running Gmax or 3ds Max as an administrator. Then make sure you export the .jms to your Desktop.
Once you see it on your desktop, you need to make a few folders.
Go to data, and then to levels.
Make a new folder of your map name. (Example: testing)
Once you have that folder, make 2 new folders, called bitmaps, and models.
Put the bitmaps you used into the bitmaps folder.

This is when you grab your .jms from you desktop and drag it into you models folder.
Go to tool, and type: tool structure levels\mapname mapname. It should build or give you errors.

GMax doesn't let scripts export directly to file. So bluestreak streams to the "Listener window" instead.
The file data, which is text, can be manually copied and pasted into notepad, if it's not too big. But it's easier to use GrabListener.exe.
Even easier yet if you download my handy dandy glTray thingy, which comes with GrabListener: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5955

Ok here's what I've got: this time I used Chimp.

1. I opened Gmax.

2. This map is just a box, so I am setting the material ID's

3. Now I am linking my map to a frame.

4. Now I just ran Chimp, I'm going to hit export halo structure

5. After choosing to save the .jms to my desktop, error!! I've got the listener window open.

Gahhh!!!!

No one said to use chimp

You suppose to select listener window, because as guy above said gmax can't export directly to file

Im guessing you never read my other post

After you export you have to run grablister

After you've run that you just save the exported file in your models folder as '*mapname*.jms', then you can run it through tool

Also, set up materials or something. Press M and rename the material you're applying to metal flat generic.

Well, I managed to get a file out. It's extension was "file," not jms though. Ok, I'll make sure to set up the materials with the names and everything.
