is the smoothing group the same there? is there a unconnected vertice? is it unwrapped differently there? does your cubemap have a random triangle in it? etc (basically, check this things)

Looks like a model problem, I doubt it's the cubemap or the unwrap.

What exactly is the problem here? All I see is a terribly smoothed assault rifle with half of its shaders missing.

are you blind?
also i only see it when i look at it from this angle.
