It would be beast and we could even do more high res graphics and textures and **** load better shaders

This is better off being done on Unreal 3 or CryEngine 3 when the standalone SDK is released.

One major issue with trying to accomplish this is that people love to brandish their work and even when they release it, the main Publisher of Halo (being MS) usually stops it due to copyright issues. In other words, it would deviate funds from primarily them if a major franchise took flight in another engine. At least, that's why the original Halo Wars mod was ended.

I would be willing to help. You're one of the people I remember from when I first joined the forums. :)
But yes, there would be a hell of a lot of porting involved, and I do see Unreal as the better option. Nevertheless, I would be willing to contribute what I can.

Well see, my problem is i can only model basic stuff, i can BARELY animate (not very well at that) i cant texture, and i cant script. (did i mention i cant script? like, at all?) I know how to use unity as well if not better then anyone that uses it consistently, but i need ALOT of help with the other stuff I know people have the stuff, they would just need to donate it...and i already had a couple of really nice things.

Use a devkit to play reach on wireframe, and then use wireframe mode in 3ds, the topology is different. It is custom, I know who modeled it..

Nothing too impressive of making a model of another model. Sure it still requires skill but poly count and distribution is already there for you with reference images. Still a nice piece of ass, at least he put the effort forward rather than just ripping the entire thing.

Its not replacing anything. everything here would be custom. Although, now with the halo 1 remake and halo 4 im not sure its worth it...but maybe.
i found something... found a unity scene file with a flat terrain. AR with a working compass (rotates a complete 360 degrees, and the texture is a bit wierd) bloom (meh) and it moves upward as you fire. The firing mechinism is gonna be redoneif i decide to continue... you cant have it though. Just thought id throw that out there if anyone cared. Edited by abkarch on Jun 7, 2011 at 06:15 PM
