this is the instructions from this site,http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?nid=323

you need to make an init.txt file with the commands in it, then make a bat file or just run it from the haloded which is part of your halo custom edition game.
i'm still trying to get mine to work,it shows up online on 1.09 when i run it, but i have problems joining it.i need to look at my router to make sure i allowed the ports needed.

if you want to join the dedi from the same pc, you need to change the ports used by either the dedi or your regular connection.
Just change the ports from 2302 and 2303 to like 2306 and 2307.
Change either via the ingame network options or add the arguments to the target path of the shortcut for the dedi.
