I'm no stranger to the RP area, I've been doing this since I got internet.

Call me a nerd, a no life if you will- but I enjoy it because it's rather fun to fill someone else's boots for a bit.

1. Story.
Now, from most of the servers I've joined I catch this alot, People asking what the story is, what the story is about.

A simple solution is to remain quiet and listen to the chat and eventually you will pick up on it. If your wondering why there isn't a story going yet, it's because YOU have not started it yet. The story should not be admin controlled and driven- everything in an RP is entirely based and built by the actions of the players.
So instead of,
RPGUY1: wats teh story? lol
It should be,
RPGUY1 picks up a rifle and tosses it to RPGUY2
RPGUY1: Recon bravo has been awol since last night, I want to see whats going over there.
RPGUY2: ALright, gimme a second.

And you get the jest of it.

2. Players

Now I see players who don't listen to or follow admin rules.
Remember the admin is the ultimate authority, but he should be too powerful. Always follow his/her orders to the letter and if you dont like them, let him/her know instead of running around the map on blue team killing red while they in the middle of a scene. Admins, if someone is not listing to your "go to red" order, you should KICK first and if it happens again then ban

Got to run for a minute but I will update this post when I get back

I LOVE PRGing because it gives the player a fun social experience, unlike mindlessly running around and shooting at a few AFKs to get a few more kills.

I do agree though that an admin should warn a player before he/she kicks he/she because I personally get banned alot because the admin in genarally an idiot (yes, noble role players, I'm talking to you)

I'll admit, i'm the guy that is always on the oposite team from everyone else; however, i'm one of the few players who do that that do NOT kill the other team unless the admin states to the contrary in which case i procede to put a Terminator. Also, I get entirely irritated with admins who just say go red when i finally have a moment to see whats going on then ban or kick me because i didn't magically fall in line. We are human and we enjoy playing games; taking orders from some egocentric 6 year old with an ego equivelant to Hitlers does not qualify as fun gameplay. If you are hosting an RP, be nice. ^_^

egocentric 6 year old with an ego equivalent to Hitlers does not qualify as fun gameplay.

But 6 year olds can't use grammar! What kind of Nazi is that?
