Halomaps has always been the same: 5% can actually do something, while 95% either rip other people's stuff and make another $hitty bloodgulch mod or criticize other people like they actually know something

Uh, thats when you use any information from the tut possible + combine it with looking at resources (extracted gbx models), and find out how to do it yourself. Doing things without a tutorial isn't that hard. Back in the old day, if we didn't have a tutorial, its either figure it out yourself or find somebody that does.

I'm not one to be known to just pick something up and learn it, I have to be taught on most things. some people have that talent others don't Let me be pretty frickin' honest on the halomaps.org community: Most people here are dicks. Now, if you can find the 5 people who can do something really well AND help new modders, then good for you. This, however, is vastly unlikely. So, whats the solution? Figure it out yourself. How do i rig something? Idk, lemme open MAX and make some boxes do something. What the hell is self radiosity? Open guriella and change it to see what happens. As a brief synopsis, there is no bible to halo modding. Its all trial an error. If you can find someone to help you, awesome, but if you cant, too damn bad. Im primarily a scripter, but can do virtually anything else aside from modeling. My xfire is lordofblake is you want to know something about something.

It's not even that the good people here are jerks, it's more that this community is full of people who actually go so far as to blame OTHER PEOPLE for why THEY are bad at something. No one in their right mind wants to waste their time helping someone who thinks that way, so they just continue to suck.

^ Not from the past everything I've learned is from people. Usually we would go into Team Viewer and they would walk me step by step.
So unless the community has changed and all the nice people left than possibly, cause yes thanks for showing another dick in the community to stay away from :D

There's nothing wrong with learning by letting others explain the process to you and walk you through the motions. I'm sure you've been to school, no?

The only problem I see here is that a bunch of people seem to think that since they have more experience in a 10 year old engine they have the right to criticize (harshly so) people who lack it. My two cents.

HA! I bet theres tons of stuff out there you can't do without learning from scratch! You have a big ego buddy, not everyone can do stuff in 3DS Max they have to learn by reading or a tutorial. Sure theres stuff I can do from just looking at it like Auto Mechanics and Real creations such as drafting. But trying to learn something I don't know and just winging it is kinda difficult, so instead of wasting my time trying to frustrate, I came here just looking for a Female biped and not learn how to rig. So lets try to get back on topic shall we? So Does anyone have a female biped, if not I'll get my friend to make one, or I will texture cortana in my spare time. But this was just a simple question, If anyone had one.

School is a terrible example, since it's more of a social brain-washing institution that exists for the sole purpose of teaching you to work (periods, bells, etc, I don't mean the actual information they teach you) Of course there's nothing wrong with people teaching, I'm just saying that aside from a select few people here who are willing to learn, there isn't much point to teaching anyone, and even then, those people need to be able to take initiative and teach themselves. My two cents. Is this post supposed to be taken seriously? Of course they have that right, that's how learning works, someone tells you what you did wrong and you learn to fix your mistakes.

There's a difference between giving constructive criticism and calling people idiots for not getting it the first time. And yes, it was meant to be serious. You're too haughty for your own good SeL. One thing that gets me is that you're an invaluable source of information, yet you choose to use it as a reason to elevate yourself above everyone else. And you're not the only one.

I would like to say that I fully support teaching people something they dont know. However, I do not like the idea of teaching someone every single little thing. I believe you should get help getting started, and then experiment on your own and ask questions based on your own experience. Another issue I have is people's just lack of an incentive to figure anything out on their own. Please people, just try your hardest to figure something out before you spam the forum asking for help.

This one? Do you want her with or without the helmet? Just to point out, there is also a female marine from Halo 2, I believe.
