Okay so i'm almost done with the animating. What i need is a script so that when you melee it takes control of the camera that the game uses when you die. The one that swivels around you so you can see around your dead body. Since i still have no clue what any of the stuff in the scripting bible or hardly any of the script commands do. I have no clue how to do this so i'm asking for help

Halo1's death camera can't swivel by default, only with an app as far as I know. Why not implement a lives script, make it so your biped "dies" and the death camera goes into effect, then respawns you as another biped without restarting the game.

I believe you misunderstand what i'm saying. First off, i'm making this for multiplayer. Second, go into halo and kill yourself (with grenades or however) and the camera will go into third person and spin around you for a second. Thats what i am trying to control (if at all possible) So when you melee it'll go into third person so you can see the assassination. I already have it working for MP but i don't have the thing for a third person camera. Is this even possible?

I believe he's right,you can't control that camera,only by not really dieing you can

Um. i don't know what any of that means. But what i'm saying is not that i want for the camera to be saved and then reloaded. look at this and you'll see what i mean i think http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6mYsB9JzKA When he does the effect it goes into third person so you can see yourself. thats what i want to happen when you use melee. For it to go into third person and when your done meleeing it goes back into first person. But of course this won't sync properly for MP.

It's a script grunt. Make a script that uses the above. Single player only.

I understand it's a script. What i was saying is it looks like all it does is stop the camera where it is and lets you keep moving and afterwards it puts the camera back. Not really ganna be able to see the assassination well from behind. Especially since you can't move when using the assassination. So you'll get a pretty good shot of his back moving around and then back into the first person. If it isn't possible to do what i'm asking i guess this could do for SP. And i suppose i could make FP animations for the assassination...Guess i was just hoping it was possible considering i sough the vid of HCE armor lock and it went into 3rd person


EDIT: (camera_set_dead (unit (list_get (players) 0))). So To start out i'm going to make it so it goes into 3rd person at the beginning of the level and stays that way.(because i have no idea what i'm doing really). So something like

(script startup assassination

(camera_set_dead (unit (list_get (players) 0)))

)

So now i know this won't work and i still have nothing to show for this thread. Can anyone please tell me how i am to get this to work.
