Apologies, but it looks quite ugly and out of place. Adjust it to blend better with the hud, that is my suggestion.

How much hud experience have you actually had? ';m sorry to say, but making a compass is more than just looking and copying values from the sniper weapon hud.
Edit: I had a conversation with Jesse about it once. Pretty sure he even said he did it, but didn't continue it because the bitmaps need to be flat. Edited by Sceny on Apr 16, 2011 at 07:19 PM

sniper ticks are a place holder, blah blah just a test to see if i can actually make a compass work in a hud. so far so good. just need to make some nifty textures and edit values alot. im suprised somebody hasnt figured this out, or at least hasnt posted about it. I read the post before commenting, please do not condescend. By "placeholder" it seemed to me you intended to keep the same location on-screen. I must have mistaken this for a, "look what I can do," type of topic.

Just wondering... is it possible to switch it so that it is horizontal?

Technically yes, but you will have lots of trouble getting it to scroll sideways without editing the gradient and the state attachments. Quote: --- Original message by: waffles place holder sniper ticks. video in a bit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTHaZk_HQKgbad quality... sorry full screen it to see it moving, i had to reinstall fraps with my hard drive failure... so far its limited to showing up when looking at certain angles, but it moves with the pitch of the character as of now. due to my lack of knowledge to the tag sections im working in. Edited by waffles on Apr 16, 2011 at 04:32 PM It only took me 2 seconds to get this done in guerilla, all you have to do is change the state it's attached to (non-zoom) and you get this. Multilex overlays are tricky, but they can work very well if you know how to use them. (Fading visor anyone?) Also, it looks like you messed up the purpose of the alpha and RBG channels, meaning you were probably just messing around and got this. Show a little work, not just accidental editing of some tags. It took me about two days of work to get a real compass working, but it was pretty useless for me since I bend all my HUDs. Bending the compass is a whole different issue. The gradients can support the bending, but the HUD tags themselves cannot. This means that while the compass ticks would follow the gradient specified as the primary map, they would move as a whole unit, not separately bent individual units.
