Actually I reinforce the rules of conduct. It would be advisable to review them from time to time to refresh your memory.

New people seem to think that "I'm reporting you 2 Dennis" is proper threat, along with quoting you on daily basis. Contrary to your comment, I have read rules, unless you took time to revise them lately.

These were rushed together in literally less than 5 minutes. All of them. With no reference or attention to detail.

regardless of how long they took, any artistic skill would have seeped through and been obvious.

you want crit? how about this.

firstly, your excuse that "oh it's a five minute drawing it's not meant to be impressive"

as an artist, your rule of thumb should be never, ever post anything that you personally are not impressed with. if you're pitching an idea that's already set in stone, the concepts should be set in stone, and the art should be adequate. if you're going to "rush five minute drawings," as a first impression, who's to say you won't "rush" everything else you work on?

as for the art, you have no grasp of form, anatomy, symmetry, depth, or perspective. there are many fundamentals I don't know about that I'm sure you're screwing up

your lines are not straight where they should be, and in general look sloppy and bad. your anatomy looks like it was drawn by an autistic 30 year old sonic and pokemon fanboy. everything looks flat, there is no sense of depth to anything on any of your drawings. your foreshortening and size to distance is non-existent

what do you do?

pick up some books, and do some gesture drawings. the internet is a valuable resource of learning whatever you want to learn. you don't want to suck? google how not to suck

If anything, trolling on the internet is pathetic. I'll bet you'd be too scared in real life 'cos you'd get beaten to a pulp. Either that or you're a wannabe tough guy. Either way, it sends negative feelings towards you. As a consequence, nobody takes YOU seriously.

of course I can draw better, and will provide side views etc. These were rushed together in literally less than 5 minutes. All of them. With no reference or attention to detail.

I find it funny that you just said you could beat someone to a pulp but then call HIAHG an internet tough guy. If that isn't the most glaringly obvious example of a hypocrisy then I don't know what is. Also, HIAHG is a good modeller, he knows what he's talking about.

Also, if you can draw better, you should. You can't rush out drawings in 5 minutes, and then be surprised when people react negatively to them. If you want to be taken seriously, then put some time into your work first. Make sure you have a decent work product to show off, or else nobody is going to take you seriously.

Firstly, your excuse that "These were rushed together in literally less than 5 minutes. All of them. With no reference or attention to detail."

As an artist, your rule of thumb should be never, ever post anything that you personally are not impressed with; if you're pitching an idea that's already set in stone, the concepts should be set in stone, and the art should be adequate. If you're going to "rush drawings together in literally less than 5 minutes", as a first impression, who's to say you won't "rush" everything else you work on?

Everything looks flat, there is no sense of depth to anything on any of your drawings. Your foreshortening and size to distance is non-existent.

What do I expect you to do?(This part didn't fit in with the rest of your cruelty. :P)
Pick up some books, and do some gesture drawings. the internet is a valuable resource of learning whatever you want to learn. You don't want to suck? Google how not to suck.

I notice you said that he has no grasp of form in anatomy, symmetry, depth, or perspective. Do you even know what all those things are or are you just trolling them for the sake of it? I personally think his perspective is fairly well done. Not as brilliant as it could be, but still fairly well done. I can see fairly well that his cheetah is leaning to the right a bit, and slightly falling over, which reveals it's right side, and the front of it's wings clearly.
And if there's no depth in his pictures, then what am I seeing there that's catching my eye so well? Ooh, a bit of 3Dness there, a bit of a focal there, I think I'm seeing depth somewhere around here. :P
Okay, the symmetry does really suck, but you shouldn't go randomly popping out tons of things for the sake of it.

Yeah the lines do suck but first drafts are supposed to look like that. They're just for remembering your ideas, they're not the final ideas.

Use books to learn to draw? Not easy. Better idea, find a teacher. There must be some workshops near to where Petera lives. We have to go up to 80 miles to get to any workshops(Which I haven't been to since I was 8 but still...), but my mum and my brothers still go.

Now, my version of the crit for Petera's drawings.

The Police drawing is totally 2D, so you should work on that. I'm not very good at drawing people either. :P

That marine with the weird equipment drawing needs some symmetry in there to break the lopsidedness.

The Interceptor is probably the best drawing out of the lot. It's clear and it has enough detail in it to inspire a little imagination for what the bottom, sides, and the inside would look like.

That beam hog looks way too overpowered and should never have been set on paper, but the drawing's alright. Needs some more perspective though.

The UNSC Double Barrelled shotgun is unoriginal and you tried to add 3D parts to a 2D object. Need I explain or do you understand what happens to a drawing when you try to add 3D parts to a 2D object?

The Mark VI helmet looks cool and is probably the second best drawing, but doesn't have enough labels for such a complex object, and so isn't exactly fit for a WIP drawing.

That Hunter class ghost sucks. The shadings bad, the idea's bad, and basically it sucks. The wings stand out among the 3D parts of the object, and look horrible.

The cheetah drawing's way too blocky, but it has perspective, and the symmetry's okay. The idea's pretty cool too. I'd love to see it in-game.

That lancer rifle drawing is completely 2D and doesn't show much perspective.

The custom assault rifle looks horrible. Looks like somebody's got a block of pastry, rolled it out into a random shape, then stuck a scope on it.

The AA turret drawing's really bad. I don't even know where the turret is, it looks like some stairs to me. The turret should be the focal, not the stairs.

The mass troop assault vehicle looks pretty cool and it's got enough labelling for it to be pretty clear what I'm seeing there. You missed the engine though.

The UNSC Electron cannon looks awesome. I'd love to see it in-game.

Well you modelled that one alien biped which I thought was pretty good, and I can't model organic stuff to save my life, so that's what I was talking about when I said that.

I guess it's pretty beast that a 14 year old drew all that. =L

That's insulting *Cries*. Lol.

But seriously, I'm 14, and I can draw better. But the OP(Original Poster) did say that his drawings were done quickly, so I guess he has an excuse, especially as it'd take me about half an hour to do what he did in 5 minutes. xD

I'll try and draw up some more detailed drawings with side view, plan view etc.
Thank you for your support and constructive criticism, I will take it into account. You probably all noticed I used scrap paper, implying that yes it was rushed. I like to do simple stuff and see what's best before I spend lots of time and effort on stuff, that's all.

P.S. Lol @ youtube vids. Pretty cool, but then again, I've been playing musical instruments since 2003. I am very busy with music and schoolwork on top of this, BTW.

Also, I saw your custom supersoldier drawing, Carter151. Very impressive. :-D

majors don't mean crap. schooling can give you the direction, but the raw skill cannot be taught.

I am intrigued to see what you're capable of.

Really?
Dude I was born to draw. Unfortunately I can't post any pics right now, since I have to rely on friends to scan or snapshot my drawings. Good news though: I made a side and 3/4ths shot of the interceptor helmet. Although there are changes. I'll see if I can post them today.

Oh yeah Progress! Forgot to mention that I drew the front view.

No offence, but I know at least 10 people in my art class alone that can draw better than you. I probably could too, given enough time. Or are you gonna say it was a quick drawing?

Yes and your point is...
Look, there are many art styles out there and my technique isn't as refined as others.
My strength in drawing iare sketches that get your attention, not something that looks HD. Besides, I wasn't trying to draw a masterpiece.
P.S. Garagon practice, practice hard. If you can draw better than me in three years you get a cookie, and I know millions of people who use a much more prettier refined technique than I do so does that mean I have no talent? No it just means my technique isn't very popular.
@Gane sorry, I wish I had a bigger camera.

First comes crit on drawings:

The police should probably just be re-drawn

Marine with salvaged sanheli armour and Kig-Yar shield gauntlets: The heck is that? I can't see it...

UNSC Interceptor (based on Banshee design): Actually not to bad.

'Beam hog' - Custom warthog, with salvaged sentinel beam technology as a turret. The turret is mechanical, controlled from the passenger seat. The turret is protected by kig-yar shields: ...?

UNSC Double - barrelled shotgun: Something's missing...

Mark VI SPARTAN infiltration helmet: Really looks like Jango's a LOT.

Hunter - class ghost: Don't...

UNSC Cheetah (based on ghost design): I think you built that go-kart wrong....

AA turret concept - a scorpion turret in a trench, accessable through and underground tunnel, and controlled by an underground panel. Controller can only be killed directly: Can't see anything.

Mass troop assault vehicle. 4 snipers, 2 heavy weapon marines, one chaingun, one driver: Good idea not to shabby drawing.

UNSC Electron cannon - A triple - barrel cannon using salvaged covenant tech. Fires rapid bursts of overcharged plasma bolts: Do like.

Very true, but people more skilled and experienced than me have already tried and failed at that.

P.S Here is my first failed abomination made using the worst modelling program known to man, simply because I felt like it. And because my 3ds isn't working again.

This s*** is so lowpoly that it could probably do fine in an arcade game...
I didn't bother with detail or smoothing. Or proper textures.

unless you are talking about BLENDER you are WRONG.
