I was wondering if it would be possible to script elite ai to switch weapons to an energy sword when they berserk. Like the elites do in halo 2.

the only way i think would be possible, and most likely its not, would be to attach an ai to the biped then sleep the script until the health reaches a certain level then add an energy sword to the biped and set the ai to berserk (i cbf scripting right now)

or

attach the ai then sleep the script until the ai is beserking then add an energy sword to the biped

but

i think the add equipment command only works for players

How to make ai switch weapons in 4 easy steps
1)plasma rifle ai angry
2)script starts up
3)kill plasma rifle ai
4)spawn sword ai in beserk mode

As a bonus, here is how you can switch weapons with the ai in 9 easy steps.
1)marine is guarding
2)marine sees player
3)player presses E
4)script starts up
5)add (put marine weapon here) to player
6)kill marine
7)spawn (put player weapon here) marine

I'll let someone else work on the actual script.

I think you should try giving the ai units a certain starting profile. That's player_add_equipment.
EDIT: Use ai-attached bipeds as the unit, or list_get from the ai_actors that the berserker are in?

every time I try to use the player_add_equipment on the biped with the ai attached nothing happens

Player_add_equipment is only for players unfortunately. These are methods i got from past threads by people with experience in map making. Those methods are the only rational way.
