Alright, so I have been working on a firefight map lately, and I plan on releasing it at some point. So I decided that I also might as well make an official thread for it.

I am using the map Tempo by Arteen: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=3603

My plans:

3 Set Firefight
45 waves + 3 bonus waves= 48 total waves.

1. Weapons will be placed on the map just like in ODST (no earning system or anything like that).

2. The player will always start with a default weapon set of an
Halo 3 Assault Rifle
and
Halo 3 Pistol (heavily edited)

3. No dropships, the AI will just spawn on the map, but with a spawning effect or by dropping from a capitalship (like in Truth and Reconciliation)

4. For lives, I'm still not sure, I can:
a) make it in multiplayer format
b) use checkpoints
c) no checkpoints, when you die, you start from wave 1
d) get a really nice lives script

Yup, echoes, well it will be plasma explosions instead of echoes now.

What grav lift??? I don't think I have a grav lift in my map?? Those green things are just for decoration.

i think he means dropping from a capital ship with a grav lift like what you mentioned in truth and reconciliation.

Oh yeah, I'm going to put that in. I thought he meant one that shoots you up, oh ok, then yeah.

This thread seems like a failed thread, very few people are commenting.

Nice choice of map!
I think you should add dropships. this bsp has good space for dropships.

Well in my first builds on the map, the dropship was really cramped and didn't work that well.

EDIT: I think I may only have about 15 waves (one set, plus a bonus wave and probably some extra boss waves

A tip when ur making ur firefight, You can usually reuse the first wave of a round throughout the entire firefight cos all u verse is grunts and jackals. Just make two grunt and jackal encounters, one easy and one medium. Use the easy encounter as the very first wave then the medium one for all the rest of the first waves

That makes it easier. By the way, I think that I might shorten it to one set instead of 3. But I probably won't use skulls, although the AI will be able to dodge and throw grenades of course. I'm going to have all kinds of AI for interesting encounters to make this firefight a grand project rather than just another firefight map. I'm also trying to set up the map for maximum gameplay.

EDIT(like a week later): I'm thinking that I'm going to only have one set. But the bonus round will be there. Also, I took out all of those trees and rocks in the middle.
