I looked at the book, and it looks nice. Who uses this book?

Actually, I own a copy - yet I haven't really looked at it yet. Had a brief skim through, it makes for a great reference manual and a reality check, but when you really get stuck on something, nothing beats asking on a set of forums you are likely to get ignored on :)

You looking to buy a copy?

Yeah, it seems like a valuable tool. It's like all of the tutorials you need all in one professional copyrighted book.

Black Art of Halo Mods (Paperback)
$2.00
+ $3.99shipping

I don't think there is anything in that book (other that older techniques) , that can not be learned by searching the tutorials on this site.
In fact, i would say that you are better off just searching for the tuts here, or just asking.

Well, since the book is so cheap, I don't see why not.

Hmm, a good about Halo modding? That's something I don't see every day.

Can you post what it includes? I.E. the table of contents?

Well here is what it contains:

"It teaches readers how to maximize their gaming experience by creating new environments, including "bots" (characters with artificial intelligence e.g. Grunts, marines etc.), skins, weapons, sounds, graphics, vehicles and terrain. The book also teaches the 'art' of customizing Halo maps, console mods, and HEK editing, so that players can be compatible with Xbox-based Halo gamers."

Old book is old. I saw this out there years ago.

Well, I'm sure the book would be able to show me all of the cool stuff I want to know. Even if it is a wee bit outdated.
