optimize, but its crap. maybe try mootools polygon cruncher.

I don't know about that, I used optimize to get my wunderwaffe in-game and it came out fine.(Except for the horrible textures)

It's been a while but I think it used to be 25,000+ Vertices before optimizing.

Optimize is a great tool if you haven't textured yet.

You don't need to.
I would just reccomend optimizing before you begin your UV or unwrapping texture process, so that you won't have to go through the pain of fixing texturing problems.

Like what Mooseguy said, it is better if you optimize before you texture your model. But if you already did it's not a big deal, you'll just have to map your texture again it if your bitmap becomes misaligned.

Really? I never even heard of multires, I'll have to try that next time.
