you see i got a new computer with vista on it i used to play on xp and it worked fine but now every time i play wireless it lets me play for like a minute then a small box shows up in the bottom right hand corner of the screen with that looks like a eathernet cable connector and a red x and i cant move then i get booted and it says network connection error. and i know its not are internet modem or any thing because when my friend comes over he can get on his laptop wireless. so if anyone else had this problem then fixed it could u help me out cuz im getting real tired of this and im about to stop playing all together.

One unlikely but "possible" problem could be your wireless card. Sometimes wireless cards will disconnected and then reconnect a short time later(can't remember exactly what causes this off the top of my head). While using a browser this usually goes unnoticed but while gaming it can become a real nuisance. I really doubt this is your problem but it's always a possibility. However it's more likely that it one the things qwertyuiop said.

Yeah, some wireless, and even wired, connections will reset themselves from time to time. I used to have this problem back when I was 14 and played *gasp* Halo Trial. It would disconnect during a game every 10 minutes or so. My advice is to get better internets.

Halo trial. I was one of the idiots who decided to mod that.

And I still had the same username too.

The box comes up when the connection is lost for a few seconds. It sucks. Used to happen to me all the time when i had a crappy wireless connection
