Hey guys, what's the best way to export bumpmaps to Halo? Can it only be done with B/W or can you render the normal in PS and then just have it look exactly like that in Halo? Reason I am asking is I love my normals in max, but when I try and export the B/W bump, it doesn't look near as good. Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

What do you mean B\W? I'm sure if you make a "render" In Photoshop you can get the end result to be the same.

Fakebumps are best applied as detail maps. But this probably wasn't what you were asking...

Nah, I was more referring to the black and white conversion through tool to a normal map. Yeah, I know about applying fakebumps a lil bit. Wish I could high poly model better though.

You are better to make your own normals than to get tool to make them from a b/w image.
