So, I've got these bitmaps, and I wanna replace the ones on my default Assault Rifle....

How do I go about doing this?

Put it into data\weapons\assault rifle\bitmaps as a .TIF, and compile it in tool with the tool bitmaps command (tool bitmaps "weapons\assault rifle\bitmaps"). Then, open Guerilla. Open the assault rifle.gbxmodel. Scroll to the bottom, and under shaders, find gun.shader_model. Open that, and scroll down to bitmaps. Replace the original bitmap with your new bitmap. Repeat with grip.shader_model.

Those are for plasma weapons. The Halo CE assault rifle goes by gun and grip.

I did all of this for you, all you have to do now is replace your tags folder with this or add the bitmaps yourself. If you can't do this yourself at this point then you must be dumb, but you don't seem dumb :)

I also took the liberty of making you a multipurpose version so... yeah.

Thanks! You am correct, me no dumb-zor. Just easily confused.

So will this change out my default AR, or will it be a seperate weapon?

It will overwrite your original assault rifle. I suppose I can make one that creates a new one, but I'll do that later.
