Is there a way to make a weapon have different model on the ground and another when it's being carried?

I meant a different model for 3rd person and one while it's sitting on the ground. I want to make it a little more obvious were it is but it would look weird being carried around like that. Edited by rerout343 on Dec 15, 2010 at 05:57 AM

Actually I may have figured out a work around. When does a weapon use it's third-person idle animation? All the time, only when carried, or never?
Also, would it be possible to have a light emit from it while on the ground but go away when picked up? Edited by rerout343 on Dec 15, 2010 at 07:09 AM

It is possible to attach a light to a weapon, but you cannot make it go away. It is also possible to use a different third person model than the fp model, this is done in the references in the weapon tag. It is not possible to use a different model for sitting on the ground and being carried, though there are workarounds that involve scripts.

Ok, but what about my earlier post asking when will a weapon use it's third person idle animation?
