This in itself is an ingenious system which I never actually thought of

I cannot take credit for the original idea, which was Shadowslayer's. BUT, I have refined what he has done, and made the lives system a non-buggy and well-integrated system. I'll post some info on it later.

But in the mean time, I'm still kinda screwed here, cuz I can't test my own map anymore without exceptioning (my old computer ran it fine).

Has anyone else here on the forums ever had the problems that my computer is having?

What Emulator do you use to run windows 7? I remember parallels desktop and VMware fusion would often exception when I would play a map, due to limited Graphic import into the emulator.

I recommend Bootcamp if you aren't already using it.

Well, there are multiple things it could possibly be. The only way to do this is through trial and error. What I would recommend is coping your ENTIRE Halo: CE game onto a flash drive. Now you need about a 4GB flash drive for this. My halo game is 2.89GB so I would have no problem.
Then just put the flash drive in another machine. If it still exceptions then its the game. If it doesn't then it's the computer. If it is the computer, which you have already mentioned. There is nothing you can do.

That is what I did when my computer was halo didn't work.

Now if you don't have a "friend with a windows" and send your game files to someone trustworthy online(good luck).

That is all I can think of. Sorry if this was not of any help.

Ok.... first of all you could always try to googling it and find a solution there.
Since I am a nice guy(sometimes) try this:

Would the background boot camp application be causing this maybe?
It does things like changing the volume with the f11 and f12 keys and so on.

My best guess: I was messin with a few player model animations. I noticed that on one version, when the player died, it exceptioned, and it sometimes exceptioned on other movement.

Later I changed it back n forth with other animation files, and it only happened on the one player animations (cyborg.model_animations) - which was a player animation that had a missing sound(?) or negative value. I thought at first it was the fp player animations, but later discovered it was a negative value in that model animations file made by beachpartywhatsisface, I fixed it, no more problems - but also discovered a missing sound in the fp animations, then no more exceptions.

I was trying to use his 3rd person melee animations when I was making "homers melee dojo" map: http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?fid=5609 I did not end up using his, but used ghosts/jahrains anims instead (primary fire melee and melee animations for a fist-fight style map).

I wish this was the case.
However, I get the exception only on this computer, and even with maps using default tags.
The only maps not susceptible to this problem, it seems, are the default maps.
