OK, so this is something weird that I have not been able to figure out over 3 days of scouring for the solution.
In my firefight map, if I "die", respawn, and look at the center of the map, it will sometimes exception.... BUT only if enemies are present and if it is after wave 1.
If I see the enemies up close, it's fine. It's just at a distance that it goes all screwy...

Also, in Sapien I will randomly get this:

i always get that in sapien. Just make it so that u don't look at the entire map and instead somehow set the offset of a cam to the dead player

I have windows 7 64-bit. If u where creating firefight decent before ur change to windows 7 it is dead. Or fix the things it mentioned by exporting into gmax. Or it is an admin problem. Windows 7 if ur the admistrator u dont need to run anything as admin. I dont. But thats all i can help with. The player deleted is the problem

Or could it be that ar your using. I dunno but its saying something about nodes. Maybe your Halo CE is corrupt cos it was exceptioning the other day when we were on xfire and u were playing a map (gee, i can't remember which one )

Yeah, Head Noob's map was exceptioning constantly....
Maybe I'll send someone a copy of my map and have them rigorously test to see if they exception?

it must be the game saving player stats but mooseguy has died so many times that the game constantly overloads everytime he dies. Thats my theory anyway :p

As I said, it could just be my computer exceptioning all the time.... I don't know why it would be my computer but it could be.
So yeah, I'll need to send a version of my firefight to get exception-tested. If it is just my computer, I'm going to hate my life.

A map exception test. I just run around randomly chucking gnades and going places where i shouldnt etc.

I used to have this error and I think it's something to do with the sniper reticle.
Whenever I looked at an enemy with the sniper I exceptioned.

And i always get something in cmd saying about the asp sniper reticule and stuff like drones have no head or body marker but it doesn't matter. Perhaps its the tags your using

I'm sure you've already fixed these but here's how i fixed these issues.




12.11.10 20:28:05 the model 'halo3\weapons\ma5c\assault_rifle' and the collision model 'halo3\weapons\ma5c\ma5c' don't match (node counts don't match)
12.11.10 20:28:05 the object 'halo3\weapons\ma5c\[asp] b_ma5c' will not be collidable
^^Make the weapon tag no longer reference this collision model.

12.11.10 20:28:17 the meter definition ui\hud\cyborg shield does not specify a stencil bitmap group.

^^ Go into your globals in the player info area, and make the specified tags reference the stencile bitmaps in the tags\ui\hud\bitmaps directory.

But since I have discovered that the exceptioning problem is due to my computer itself, does anyone know how I can fix this problem? (I mean the random exceptioning on many different maps)

Well, that might be because you have halo installed on windows 7 which is itself installed on a mac, so you're basically trying to run halo ce on a mac osx.

My map has its foundations in deathless player. The map would not run without it activated. You never "die" in the map, per-se, you are fooled into thinking you died, and lives are subtracted.

Wait, your problem, specifically, is hce crashing when you look at enemies from a distance? 0_o

Or is it simply just random exceptioning that can occur at all times? BtW, Muscl3r just got owned.

I have found that most custom singleplayer maps I play, including mine, will exception at random times, but ESPECIALLY if you die (or "die").

what i meant was the deathless cheat as in the one used in f/fight portent. But only for testing. U'd have to send to someone else to test out the lives system

Dude. He isn't asking anyone to test his lives system. What he's saying is that cheat_deathless_player is an integral part of the scripts of his map, because it regulates the number of player lives. This in itself is an ingenious system which I never actually thought of
