Well to hell with the command lists. I've tried absolutely everything with them and they don't work. I'll have to change stuff around yet again. The map now has more turrets in strategical places. Since I am sick of dodging overcharge after overcharge i'm gonna replace cmt's grunts with the halo 3 ones (who hopefully have anims for the fuel rod otherwise i know how to fix that) and the jackals will be replaced with halo 2 jackals. Might add some Hunters to the waves and throw in a few wraiths and ghosts. Fixed damage on smg and some idiot put aim assist on the smg, automag and carbine so i've fixed that too. Jesse is making us an automag hud. Old Health packs replaced with new medic packs. May add in another armoury where the rockets spawn. Need to add in the easter egg which will be very complicaed to find. Also need to implement the lives script and if you leave the combat zone there needs to be consequences. I think thats about it. But the main problem is the ai.

Ok i found the cause of the problem with the ai. The ai are so stupid that they can't walk up the kerb onto the footpath. So, they find a way around to the footpath and try to get to the second point twenty metres away instead they run into the back of the ramp which is where they need to go. Well i shall fix this by adding more points and commands later on. Then hopefully it will all be alright

Farout rub3n I 've got the tags i'm just working on the actual firefight atm easter eggs will come later.

Well i fixed one of the ai's command lists (the main one) which has made a big difference. The other one i think i'll get away with until the 2d fences are gone. I replaced the grunts and now that cmt's flashy ai are all gone its a whole lot less laggier. Jackals have also been replaced.

Hey guys. Could we get some of you to start working on some city based mp maps? That would be awesome.

Well. Today i decided to do some work on city firefight. It is now 100 percent better than before

changes since v1:

Waves have been rearranged to be like an odst firefight

kick ass odst fp added

Sad. Give me a scenario and ill fix like all of it. Also when is the phantom coming MUSTER CHIEF. Also i dont know how import the phantom and map. Or export the animation. Need help on that. Also ppl should use steam and Xfire. Steam is what u use to get games and all new game use this for matchmaking. There counterstrike and everything it awesome. So much cheaper then in store too.


i'll send u download link through a pm k?, in 3ds max it has all the nodes needed, ready to be animated, but need to be rigged 1st. while ur doing that, should i fix the shaders so it has better detail? like changing color so its purple like the original phantom?

Na i like the current state of the phantom it looks better. Since its ODST it would be green not purple.

Head noob the phantoms are not blue in odst. They are purple. I played campaign yesterday and a few firefights. THEY ARE PURPLE

Progress!

I have added vehicles to some of the waves and have added two more armouries. Still have to script in the easter egg and going out of bounds and need some hud messages. Also change biped and hud.

After testing i may send a copy to Head Noob for the brutes to be changed.

Head Noob, just rip the map. If i send u a scenario it won't work cos i have different tags. Also if u rip it u'll get the bsp and u can get rid of the 2d fences.

Musl3r after I sort out my pc and bla bla bla I'll test ur firefight ok, and if the Easter egg is hidden, then doesn't that mean that there is a very unlikely chance of headcrabs spawning...

I thought you were the one getting the new computer?

Well i'm uploading a beta to mediafiref now. In the latest version the vehicles have been given a command list to enter the combat zone (i haven't tested it yet) and the two armouries have had a few things taken out of them to stop the lag. Also i have added a shotgun to the map. Note that the weapons may be hard to find...

Somethings up with the upload speed so its taking foreverrrrrr....

ATM i'm sending it to videoman, rub3n, Head Noob and mastur cheef. Is there anyone else who would like a copy?

If the map size is larger then 50 mb I mighthave trouble, actually my mom doesn't like me playing games so she didn't get me a laptop so she got herself one. A good idea for the egg is when u get it, If it's possible to change the sky to a night sky swell as spawning headcrabs and Also play an evil childish laugh when u get the egg.

The map size is something like 220mb but the download is 96mb. Well i tried uploading and waited a few hours. Just got back home. "Download Complete: failed"
So it didn't work. I'll try again some other time. In the mean time i'm thinking of starting on firefight_chronopolis, the next firefight set in the parking lot. I'll need the roof of the carpark removed by whoever edits the bsp so that phantoms can land. And I found a third area on chronopolis ideal for a firefight. All it needs is a few interior hallways added to the buildings. Preferrably dark ones.

ATM the map has a night sky but still has day light. I might change the sky to a day time one and release another version of city_firefight at night time with the full screen night vision when i figure out how to do that. As for the evil laugh, how about the one from the start of firefight portent?

I still think the evil laugh from call of duty zombies is better, any way I think that being daytime then getting Easter egg will change to night time with full moon partially covered in dark clouds is good. It'll be cool if u had zombie tags not like those cheap 1s from area bla bla bla I like realistically freeky ones best. Heeeeyy u could make a zombie firefight :D

Well i have my plans for the next few firefight projects.

I will now begin work on firefight_chronopolis, the carpark one which i think will be alot easier now that i am experienced with command lists and because it is a much better area for a firefight

Then I will work on the night time conversion of city_firefight which will be easy. All i will have to do is add the fullscreen night vision to all the weapons, make the bsp darker with cmd and add in some lights

And finally i will work on the latest idea of firefight in the newly discovered area of chronopolis. However i will need someone to edit that area of the bsp. It will need interiors in some of the buildings and stuff like that. It is a much smaller area compared to where city_firefight is set so it should turn out pretty good.

I'd say it looks fine. Just use cmt's fp anims.

Well today (well...yesterday, its 1am atm) i got all scenery placed, ai command lists, all weapons and equipment placed and 5 of 15 waves of ai done for firefight_chronopolis. Just have to put in a continous script for the ai to always see the player then the command lists should work out fine cos atm the enemies just walk the command list when they need to run it and the buggers command lists don't work. I have to use devmode for those waves. This firefight is actually almost finished!

Well, good to see that other firefights are being churned out.

BTW, fix the shaders of that plasma rifle so it has shine/reflection.

I kinda like it cos i've been put off by previous pr's with terrible shaders. Can't wait to continue work on the firefight after i finish watching a tonne of movies

A level of detail bitmap is some weird Bungie trick that you don't really need. The thing you do need to modify is adding a detail map to the main shader(s) and giving them reflection properties and a cubemap.

WAY better. And for the detail map, use the covenant hexagon pattern bitmap. You might find it in cmt's tagset or a h3 or h2 tagset somewhere, cuz I had it.

I personally never liked the hexagonal detail. Make sure it doesn't look like sphinxbio's 'H3' pr.
CMT pr animations are overused, I think, and people pass them off as h3 animations. If anyone was willing to make new ones, that would be good.
Otherwise, just remember I'm watching you guys.

Well, in my map, what I did, is I just took the cmt brute plasma rifle, (which was blue for some reason), and just changed shaders around so it's red now.
