A device_machine could do this via script, I'm not sure about a scenery. Although there's not much to making a device, look at another from a campaign as a guide.

Yea, making it just like a door should work, though the piston/grating things used in d40 that you have to throw grenades into are more similar to what you'd be doing.
I'd love to help with the scripting, however, I know very little about it, and I have no references to look at at the moment. Someone else would be better in any case.

I don't have it on this computer, sorry. I'll do my best to find some references and guide ya through it tomorrow, but I don't know what I'll turn up... The graphics card in my laptop that had halo on it died, so I can't really access the files... But I may have some on an external drive, I just have to look.

Here's my idea. Create an looping animation scenery for your object. Count exactly how many frames your animation takes up at a 30fps setting. Crete another scenery that is set at that last frame, without animations. Now, in a script, do this: (script startup scenery-replace (object_create_anew SCENERY1) (sleep FRAME COUNT) (object_destroy SCENERY1) (object_create SCENERY2) ) and you're done!
