I don't understand why, but for some reason every map I download no matter what size, takes a long time to download, and once it's finished it says Windows cannot open it because the folder is invalid. Me and my brother (whom also downloads regularly) both have the same problem on different computers. Any ideas?

It sounds like your download is getting cut off. This can be for a number of reasons. See item number 3 of this article.

To clarify, I use Google Chrome for my downloads, could that be it?

Hm. IE doesn't seem to be helping. I'll try Safari, how good do you think the download system is on that browser?

Chrome has had issues with the downloading here in the past. I would put money on Chrome being the problem here.

Yes it could. The Widows firewall is configured by default to allow IE full access but you have to manually configured Chrome, Firefox and Safari in the firewall for anything other than port 80 which is HTTP. You just need to allow the browser program full access.

I use all five of the major browsers: IE, Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Safari and had to add them in the firewall as exceptions.

Here's the process: 1) download 2) open directly 3) cut and paste into maps folder 4) play map

Firewall fixed the problem so far...allowed safari and chrome, but not sure if it's a permanent fix.
