PLEASE HELP!!!
I installed Halo Editing Kit on my Laptop a few days ago, And the Installation Directory was C:>Program Files>Microsoft Games>Halo Custom Edition... I can't find it anywhere in there... :( Is it under a different name? The only thing that seems LIKE a map maker is Guerilla... But it doesn't look anything like what I've seen in Tutorials... I'm new to Map Making on PC Games... Can somebody please help me? I'm only 15, so please try to dumb it down a bit... Lol... :d |

You have custom edition installed , then you installed HEK, and you are looking in custom edition root directory.
You wont find a folder called HEK or anything, you should have guerilla.exe, sapien.exe and tool.exe Do you have those? |

Depends on what you're starting on. Each one is designed to handle a certain aspect of map-making. Tool is used for scripting and commands, Guerilla for general tag modification, and Sapien for level-editing.
Also, the abnormally large bold font makes you seem like a noob. Might wanna fix that. Edited by Echo77 on Oct 14, 2010 at 08:36 PM |

Well so far the only one that will open and stay open is Guerilla... Tool opens then closes... And Sapien Doesn't Open at all... I'm wanting to make a Map from scratch... I'm planning on making a Map Remake from a Completely Different game... Example: Highrise from MW2... Or the Test-O-Track from Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts...

Ok, I FINALLY downloaded 3dsmax... So now what do I do? How do I start Map Making?

Ugh. Go to TheGhost's Tutorials Index here:
http://ghost.halomaps.org/tutorials/ And find some tutorials on map making, the good ones should tell you how to make a level from start to completion. I reccomend getting 3ds Max 2011, and then "keeping" it somehow..... hint hint |

Well Nevermind to my previous Message... It freezes every time I try opening it... :(
