I miss CE

More Contributions. Or up for discussion

1) Stealth Missions- I think we could see more of these you know? (Eg. All Ghillied Up, Call of Duty 4) And I know, there were a few, but most of those ended up blowing things up. I liked E60 Though

2) Some more Modern Day Maps could be fun....streets of Afghanistan or Alleys of China? (I'd probably get turned down/flamed the most by this one)

3) Training map - A map made to "train" people...Obstacle Courses, Shooting Ranges, Arena, all in one?

And just a couple of questions: For the sake of asking, is there any Reach maps being made?
And what the heck happened to the RipCord thing that some guy was making? (forgot who)

i don't think any reach maps are being made atm mainly because the halo 3 tagset hasn't even been truly publicly released yet and the people that do have it *cough* zteam *cough* will never release it.

Wasn't Ripcord the program to sync AI?
If so that was being made by Killerkip, and if I remember correctly it pretty much died before it got started.

E60 was a very creative map indeed, propes to the maker of the E-series of maps.
Stealthy missions such as E60 would be fun, I agree. With breaks for action, and more extended playtime.
As for the other 2 ideas, nobody really wants to be masterchief in Iraq, lol.
Also, people try to make shooting/arena/etc maps all the time. They just get boring fast (With the exclusion of Sniper Training).

That code , or something along those lines will change your allegiance to include the covenant , therefore , they become your allies. AKA , you can skip , jump , hop to the church of mombassa.

no reach maps? what are you talking about? boneyard is going to be completely done in a few weeks, forge world still has a way to go, but powerhouse (my fixed up version) is pretty close, that is more reach remakes in the first month of reach being out, than halo 3 remakes that have been released since halo 3 came out, and you tell us no reach remakes

Powerhouse: Finished, and not by you.

Boneyard: Some Halo 2 Vista map you keep going on about

Forge World: Either the above, or the next Extinction.

Either way, Boneyard and Forgeworld will probably be protected if they get into CE, kind of destroying the purpose.



powerhouse: i said: (my fixed version) and if you call what was released "finished" then i think i have lost hope in the halo ce community due to their low expectation level. right now i am lowering the polycount to get it ingame once thats done its all fun and games because i then get to texture it.

boneyard: i keep going on about it because its just that awesome, the rfu team has it right now (same team that has the dmr, armor lock, reach sniper ect) and in a few weeks (once the texturing is done) i'm giving the map over to shadowslayer 123 who is going to make a firefight map on it, which will probably be done before rfu's mp map, if shadowslayer doesn't have anything on his firefight map that he doesn't want anyone having it will be released unprotected.

and now forge world, extinction was one of my least favorite maps, the only thing forge world has in common with extinction is size, and the similarities end there, right now i have all the models for the various map permutations, i'm just working on the forge world terrain (but boneyard is my top priority right now) once its done it will look very very good, and no matter what i am releasing forge world unprotected because its a forge map:)

all of those maps i just talked about are being released on halo 2 vista and halo ce (excluding the boneyard firefight, until we get ai working) i am willing to bet my life on the fact that powerhouse for halo 2 will look awesome, same with all of the maps but i am not sure about the halo ce versions i myself am not going to be the one making all the halo ce shaders and such but i know that the halo ce engine isn't known fro producing breathtaking (visually) maps but who knows i am fairly sure that i can get shadowslayer to release unprotected but its not that important because boneyard isn't really a forge map, so if you think about it all you will get is a bunch of noobz running around with their own permutation of boneyard "HEY LOOK I PUT A PORTA POTTY ON BONEYARD!!!!1!" or "I MADE A BONEYARD MAP THATS ALL PINK!!1" so i think forge world is more important, i intend to release a regular forge world (on halo 1+2) with hemmorage, pinnacle, and maybe the cage (if i can get all that in game) and then a custom edition of forge world with most of the halo reach forge items + some new ones (all textured)
doubt if you wish but all that is inevitable, wait and see:)

After Solitude firefight many learned that we must keep our expectations down and as for giving the map to shadow slayer.....lol jk

lol gnade, instead of looking for unprotected maps you could try learning ai or scripting or something like that, then, as you advance in this community people will give you tags.

Man, I start working on a firefight map, and solitude has been released, and now another firefight on boneyard is in the works.... What happened there? I guess I'm just too slow....

once the bsp is done and i turn a copy over to you halo ce people, maybe you and shadow slayer can work together, halo 2 lighting is different from halo 1 (or at least i think it is) but i know practically nothing about lighting in halo 2 (i just know how to move the sun and change its values, like intensity color ect) so i could definitely use some tips, like how to get the halo reach feel to it, and what color i should light it in.

@gnade,and you are still wondering why people flame you when you mention ripping,
thats because people dont respect rippers, I mean if you can make so damn good AI and other stuff, then why be so upset about maps being protected, there is reason why people protect their maps, and you should respect that.

@tr0y, custom sky isnt really that complicated, I might try making good looking and fitting with overall theme of boneyard when im done with interior., but I guess this is going way of topic...

@gnade, also, tr0y is creator of bsp, and even through shadowslayer is going to put in halo ce, tr0y still have ability to influence outcome.
