Okay, thanks everyone! I think that is all the problems. I'll let you know if I run into any more. The only major problem I have left is tags, but this isn't the place for that so... I might come back later and ask how to script a firefight, however that's a way off. I have to finish this map first. Thanks everyone again!

Okay, umm... this is a really dumb question. I take it you make an xfire account of xfire.com? Also I'm requiring some help with tags, right now I'm stuck with the classic weapons and can't get custom tags, that I downloaded off of halomaps, to work. Anyway I will look into xfire, could you explain too me what it does?

Xfire is just an instant messenger for gamers, you can chat in-game and take screenshots and video (the video recorder is garbage) it's just something good to have if you look for help on modding halo.

Okay, I'll look into making one. I'm really not sure what I would use It for though. Also, do you know anything about adding tags? I'm trying to add some on my single player map but it's not working. I don't think any scripting is involved but I'm not sure. I'd rather not make a separate thread asking an easily answered question. So are you willing to help? Trust me, now that I how to do basic scripting, this map will be good, hopefully.

most of the custom tags you can download on this site are broken and missing things you might just want to either use the original weapon set or download a map and extract those tags.

Oh, okay, that's the problem. Every time I downloaded a tag off this website, sapien would tell me I'm missing stuff. Looks like I'm using the original tag set. Because the tags I want are from maps that are protected. I'm making an xfire account now I'll add you later.

For custom tags you have to look at your debug to see what's missing.

Then you probably didn't put it in the right area of your tags folder, look at the first folder it references after tags, and place the smg's folder in that folder.

This is where I put the weapon tag:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Halo Custom Edition\tags\cmt\weapons\human\smg

you're missing a particle tag, open the fire_bullet effect in h2\weapons\single\smg\effcts and look for red references, then, erase all of those references and it should work.

Okay, I'm a little confused. I open the fire_bullet.effect in guerilla, and delete everything that's red? In guerilla I found one red text, under particles. It's the particle type. Should I delete it?

you could give it a different firing effect, at the bottom of the weapon tag there is a firing effect specified, you can just give it a different one.

Yep, the smg works now. It's just sounds like a assault rifle. It looks to me like every tag on this website is missing something. Oh well, I'm probably not going to add in any custom weapons because of this. Not unless I find some complete tags. I come back if I have any more questions.
