When I open up HEK+, it doesn't even load and it crashes. I have Halo Editing Kit Plus as of 12-17-06 - (HEK+) by SteelIXB. I don't know how to fix this. BTW, do I have to put HEK+ in the halo custom edition root directory? I have .NET framework 3.5 SP1 and 4, running on vista.

i believe that you should right click the HEK+ .exe, go to Properties -> Compatibility tab and under Settings check Disable desktop composition. Also, run HEK+ as admin.

Yes HEK+ has to be installed in your Halo CE root directory. Go to the compatibility tab in the properties. Make sure disable visual themes and disable desktop composition are checked. It will run fine.

You don't have to, but it's recommended, and it makes organization less of a pain in the arse.
