I need to find a good Gmax tutorial as well with Tool, Guerilla and Sapein. I can only find good 3DS Max tutorials especially the HEK tutorial.

use the 3ds max tutorials and find the similarities in gmax. until you have to export. for exporting you have to use bluestreak jms exporter which you can find here: http://ghost.halomaps.org/bluestreak/ . and for the other stuff just search the site for tutorials on what you need to know.

Bluestreak is also optimal to use with 3ds Max. I use it for all my stuff.

I know 3DS Max and Gmax is the similar. I just want a Gmax tutorial. I don't use 3DS Max because you need to pay cash for it.

No l28, darkassasin's right. I really don't see why I got 3dsmax. (you can argue this)

My eyes hurt when using GMax, the shading in there is terrible and it is impossible to tell what exactly you're doing. Plus, the best it gets in Gmax is just editable-mesh type stuff. I never saw any of the more advanced tools, or anything useful such as boolean. Texturing is also a pain in the GMax.

It has boolean like rooster said. And I think texturing in gmax is better. And GRUNTS: U callin' me NUB with 3dsmax? We're talking bsps here buddy.

Texturing is better? You high? Boolean is next to useless as we've discussed before. Very few practical uses.
@OP: 3ds max isn't hard to get, just go for it. Rendering is also a very useful tool in halo, gives you more control over the lightmaps and texture maps (bump, specular, glow effects, ect...) Texturing is Gmax is just dumb... I mean unless they added some nice rendering functions since I last used it like almost 10 years ago.

If you can get 3dsmax then fine. ANYWAY: This topic was NOT about gmax vs 3dsmax originally. But because they are similar in almost all ways you'll ever need to do halo stuff, you can use a 3dsmax tutorial for gmax.

Third person referencing... alright.
Like I said, it's not hard to get. If I remember correctly this forum doesn't let me tell you how. They wouldn't charge 3k for "little difference".
