I would like to make some ai come down a gravity lift similar to the one in a50. The question is, how do I make those characters drop slowly and lad on the pad, like in a50? If anyone can answer this, thanks.

umm, look in the tags or animation graph of the covie units that descend from the ship down to the lift. If its in the anim graph, you need to make that anim work in time through script. but yeah, ever played extinction. well then gee-lift brings you down slow and your anim is suspended in the mid-air jump animation (if there is one). So yeah, i tried to help, but these are only suggestions on ways to fins the solution, to figure it out. Is up to you

yeah, found that out the other day. just realised there is no specific speed difference, and you walk into it from the ground, jump around, and there is no difference. could you make a zone with 0 fall damage though? that could work for some circumstances (down only though)
i suppose for Up, you could use a mancannon that makes you move relatively slowly, but with a limitless momentum?

well, the way i see it is Downward grav lifts wouldn't, upwards grav lifts might, man-cannon style. even if there were invisible mancannons at even paces, to keep you going. What was the name of the map with Yellow Mongooses, a small lake off to one side, pretty small map. each base was a forerunner building, and plasma nades made bubble shield effects? i'm pretty sure that had a fine mancannon on it (couldn't find the one on Headlong)

Eh, is it me or most of these people have no clue what they're saying?
anyway. My personal guess would be an invisible elevator for your firefight map. only moving downward, and maybe 15 feet from ground, it gets deleted and the AI makes the remaining distance in a normal fall.

Chartruce geese, lake, two bases, and the effects. It had mancannons.
