Hello again everyone, I am wondering about vehicle balance issues for my space battle map. basically, all of the covenant air vehicles number too few, and most of them are far too underpowered (extinction phantom, banshee)
Main problem is numbers of air vehicles, because there are a pathetically small amount of covenant ones compared to human. i want each team to have a vehicle of fairly even capabilities, so every vehicle type has it's pair on the other team. For instance:
Longsword : Seraph (which needs to be bigger) Assault Pelican : Halo 2 Phantom (which needs better steering, physics and weapons) Jet : Banshee (which will be tweaked for speed and better power)
the experimental vehicles will be the Longsword for human, and Halo 1 dropship (super modified, with good firepower and armour, and good steering) for covenant
however, i'd like the Kestrel and the Sparrowhawk for humans, possibly the hornet. If anyone knows about other covenant vehicles, or has an idea to make/modify one to work, please post

i ripped the sparrowhawk from cmts maps, and i have a kestrel ripped from dogs of war.. and i think the reason there are so few covenant vehicles (or covenant anything) is due to the geometry of them. human and forerunner geometry is easily recognizable and has a more "blocky" shape to it, making it easy to make, and covenant is more rounded and sci-fi. plus, there are extremely few of them. for ones that are shown in the games, there are the spirit, phantom, seraph, and banshee, plus the vampire, but i dont think there are many tags for halo wars vehicles.

First, I applaud the use of the Spirit (halo 1 dropship) with the phantom.
The hornet is avalable for download in the vehicle tags section of halomaps,

what i was thinking, as a last minute resort, modify the covenant ground vehicles to be air vehicles. They all have anti-grav thrusters, so all they really need is primary engines. I was going to make the Wraith the equivalent of the Kestrel, so out-fit it with 4 seats and a gun turret. i suppose ghosts could be used as small strike craft, and the specter could be the equivalent of the hornet. Whatever other ones i can use would be great
and i thought the spirit was still called the phantom in Halo 1, it's just a different version, but yeah. using both would be better i reckon.

oh ok, i haven't played reach so i don't know. i just want as many as possible, because humans usually have the advantage against covenant in vehicle-based maps
