i want to make an onyx map and i've already created the weapon, now i need to add charging to the biped, model animations,actor variant or whatever controls the weapon charging(like the hunters). also i need a good FP for the sentinel gun. also also does anyone know of a devian art or drawing of what someone thinks ONYX looks like? if not ill just create it while listening to ghosts of onyx audiobook.

Both Elefant and Mythril have concepts of the Onyx sentinel done. Mythie's in China at the moment, though, and Elefant's probably playing Minecraft, so you'll have to wait a bit for them to show you their concepts, if they do at all.

If someone's gonna make an Onyx sentinel they should make them killable by plasma grenades and plasma pistol over charges. Or just make them unkillable.

I would show it, but the collision isn't working for some reason, I can't figure out how to get it to explode when I shoot it enough. The maddening thing is the collision setup is exactly the same as both the normal sentinel and another sentinel variant I have, and those 2 explode just fine, but the Onyx one doesn't for some reason >_>

ok so whats changed model-wise? what i had in mind was normal sentinel's, with black cores that heated to red and fired(like 6 seconds to charge). rocks are the only things that should damage them, but i could make slow moving projectiles ect. also this would work best as a campaign map. what do you think onyx looks like?(for bsp?)

Yeah, a grenade is a projectile just like any projectile fired from a weapon, so you could just set the impact damage to be the same as a rocket launcher, and it would be a one hit kill. E: this is directed at hjm65 Edited by UnevenElefant5 on Sep 23, 2010 at 09:31 PM

easy enough. i was toying with the onyx sentinel gun when i modded the demo on a mac (i still do, but now im more focused on ce) so it charged and shot in a beam(i made it bigger tho) and exploded on contact with everything. of course, the sentinel doesnt have charging...

Maybe use pics of that as a reference. There are some Forerunner sections, too, so that'd be a cool part to include.

If you are making a biped for a sentinel that charges before firing, have it hold a weapon similar to the spartan lazer, but with no model and a slow release.
