I think we should be grateful the ma37 is done, and we should get it ingame, instead of worrying about the wireframe.

Why the hell is the wireframe so important? It is skinned already and looks fine. A majority of the errors will probably not show up in FP anyway, where it really counts.

The wireframe matters because usually all that happens is a ripped texture is stuck onto a crappy model... don't turn this into a rips thread for god sake.
That magnum model's silhouette looks poor, so I expect a poor model. That's why wireframe is important. because noobs smack ripped textures on and make people who custom paint it ect look crap!

Rips are ok in special cases. I am alright witrh ripping from the other Halo games for content, which would free up time for better modelers to make custom (non-halo-copying) content.

Then why did you make the previous comment at all? Also, just because something is ripped does not mean that it is not art. Just because art may be stolen does not make in any less valuable at the auction. Also, I'm pretty sure I said nowhere that you don't appreciate art. I'm just saying that that comment is really unnecessary when he clearly makes a good point about learning from rips rather than using them so much just to get tags ingame. Sure you should have fun with CE, but people should learn from what they do. Also, the only reason I said something was because your comment was a discussion killer. One of those "why are you getting involved" kinds of comments. Not to say your comment was wrong in that I want to see another ripping argument thread because it will just lead to me and another person in the end arguing then becoming xfire friends and having a jolly good time. (this has happened like at least 3 times I swear to God) Oh and by the way, saying "big pat on the back" "you should be proud" and that kind of stuff is usually indicative of someone who has no argument whatsoever but covers it up with sarcasm. I recommend if you ever want anyone to take you seriously in life, it would be best to get out of the habit of using such comments in arguments. They detract so much from what you are trying to get across. If you would have said something actually intelligent I may not be writing this stupid two paragraph message about a two sentence comment. I mean sure it's great to be witty, but if you are going to be witty, actually make it about the argument. You know what I saw when I saw that last part of your comment? I saw basically a comment almost as useful as "your mom". Seriously! That's what it makes it sound like.

I really learned more off ripped biped models and weapons with no uvws, which in turn I learned how to rig bipeds and make uvw unwraps for weapons mostly (not bipeds, still crappy uvws I make when I try). Oh and I do this ALL on a laptop with no mouse, it's so fun when my finger cramps when uvw unwrapping or rigging bipeds.

It most cases, it only matters what it looks like, not what it looks like with a bunch of lines running over the edges. wireframes are incredibly important. When you model your distribution of detail and polygons can affect the outcome of your model. For example, having a 40 sided cylinder as a barrel is entirely unnecessary but you can't tell what the mesh looks like from just seeing a textured model. You need to know how to properly allocate detail in a model and to the normal map so that you aren't wasting resources. Showing a wireframe is the best way to get crit about it.

Summary of what we were taking about:
anonymous - explaining necessity of wireframe. (had a few good points (expalined please don't make this about ripping))
spartan - (strayed from subtopic of wireframe to talk about painted vs ripped textures)
anonymous - (just trying to defend a opinion)
you - another person coming into a conversation with the "rippers gonna rip derp" (hmm, didn't anonymous just request you basically to NOT say that kind of thing? hmm. something to ponder.)
me - (Getting pissed because the only reason you came in was to defend people who rip. And it was right after anonymous said not to start that conversation. Me saying your comment was unnecessary)
you - (can't decipher comments and comes up with me saying "you don't appreciate art", ends with basically a your mom type comment)
me - (telling you to read my posts)
you - (rippers gonna rip derp (I guess you felt the need to say it again)) This has strayed a bit from a post about the necessity of wirefram I think.
me - (showing proof in quoted, highlighted form that I never said anything you said i said. Added a comment so we can get back to the topic)
you - Apearently not wanting to get back on topic so you formulate another ditch effort to say that IDK what I am talking about and that I will bring down the thread)
and now for me again.
I said... LEAVE IT AT THAT! GTF back to the topic because this is going, and started, nowhere since i'm pretty sure anonymous said he didn't want to talk about the merits of ripping before you posted your post that oh so happened to be about none other than the merits of ripping. Fancy that.
You wanna argue and explain further bout how rippers gonna rip, that is what modacity or PM is for.
